Default The Buffalo Theory

A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo and when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members. In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Now, as we know, excessive drinking of alcohol kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. And that is why you always feel smarter after a few beers.

I don't know where you get this information from, but it's been proven otherwise.

Sure about that?

http://www.wonderquest.com/BrainCells.htm

(i dont know the answer, but this article suggests otherwise?)

Besides, if the booze doesnt destroy brain cells... surely some of the knocks, falls and beatings ive taken whilst under the influence have seen a bit of natural selection ocuring in the frontal lobe...

Although you could be chasing those buffalo's into a confined area where they will all be trapped and killed and no longer anyway.

If you have 20 logs holding up a boat shed, and 5 of them are weak, so your boat shed slightly leans to the right or something, then thats better then having only 15 logs that can't handle the increased pressure placed upon them. Those 5 logs that were the weakest could still have been holding 20-30% of the weight of the boat shed together.

The thoery sounds great, but it does not work for anything other then hunted buffalos.
