It screws on and off. Anti-clockwise to remove it.

What pertuan said. And ignore the instructions that tell you to use the cable tie and that you need to remove the boot etc. just unscrew the old one and screw in the new one,

Yeah I don't even know why they would put the wrong instructions in there. Although it took me about 2 minutes to figure out the boot was elastic. I'm thinking of removing the boot and putting in a gate there but I think it might look rice.

I think the gate is a cool idea but it probably won't sit well with the rest of the very boring interior unfortunately. Might be ok on the XR5 tho.

Joshf2 made a gate for his Fiesta out of a metal plate. It makes shifting a very precise and clunking job, especially due to the short throw we have on our shifts.

Ok Gear knob is installed, looks great, really lifts the interior.
Next is the Chrome handbrake lever. Anyone installed one? Hard to do? |

Apparently getting the standard one off is pretty painful. Read about it on FFOC uk

it is a bastard....!
i couldnt get mine to slip off...i ended up cutting the old plastic one off. Its a very tight fit, to jam it back on i used a socket which would fit over the handbrake button and lightly touch the handbrake round the button and gently tapped it on... |
