Harry Potter!

Or you could give Matthew Reilly a go, i have read Ice Station and Temple by him, and they are excellent.

Another author I love is Robert G Barrett, his books are awesome! Most of them are about this guy Les Norton, they are absolute classics to read!

Yeah, Any of Matthew Reilly's books, particularly ice station, contest, scarecrow, or temple.

Also, sticking to action/adventure books, try Clive Cussler, lots of books, just read inca gold, awesome read!

Might sound rediculous, But I like the following - unless you've read them then I think they're both great reads - whenever I want to read a book, I'll go back to them...

The Excorcist
The Hobbit - JRR Tolkein

I've just finished "Snowtown" about the bodies in the barrels murders in SA.. Shocking stuff!
Now on "Someone elses daughter" which is Anita Cobby's story... The mongrels that did this really should have been strung up!

Likewise. Pretty gripping story, I just hated the chapters where Ellies just writing her thoughts. Less thinking more blowing up stuff!

Some of the starwars novels arent bad, otherwise get into anything concerning Napoleon's foray into Russia in 1812 - shocking stuff.

"A Private Man" by Malcolm Knox is a good read, very interesting if you want to delve deep into the male psyche, whilst still reading about cricket and porn.

"Survivor" and "Choke" by Chuck Palahniuk are also amazing books.
