Default Classic Aussie Rock

Any other old farts here remember such classic Aussie rock bands as 'Buster Brown' (Angry Anderson & Phill Rudd), 'Coloured Balls' (Lobby Loyde), or 'Buffalo'.

I picked up re-release CDs of classic Aussie early 70s rock albums by these bands and remembered how much I enjoyed these first time around.

What about Madder Lake or Matt Taylor or perhaps the Merceps. Or my all time favorite Chain.

Yeah, still waiting to get my hands on some Madder Lake, but yeah, Chain went off, and Matt Taylor's 'I remember when I was young' is an undisputed classic.

Aussie rock bands from the early 70s.....and I mean 'ROCK', not pop. Buffalo's 'Volcanic Rock' album, from 1973, is an absolute corner stone album, as was 'Ball Power' by Coloured Balls (guitarist Lobby Loyde was recently inducted into the ARIA hall of fame).

Check out Cruize Radio all day today for an education on Aussie music....it's 'Aussie Friday'.

Now you're talking my language...

I was recently given Daddy Cool's Tsunami Concert (DVD) - can't believe how good they sound after 30 years... Eagle Rock, Come Back Again etc

Also recently found "I'll Be Gone" by Spectrum - another great song.

Billy Thorpe, Ray Browne, Normie Rowe, Easybeats, Jade Hurley etc etc

How good was "Ginger Man" by Brian Cadd?

So many songs... so little hard drive space, lol.

I've got around a thousand LP's from 1964 - 1975.

I don't think I'll ever get the time to put them on cd <sigh>

I also have a squillion slides for which I bought a scanner in order to copy to cd.

Can't see that happening either <double sigh>

On the upside, my wife is about halfway scanning the family (my parents and grandparents) photos so at least we'll have something on cd, lol.

Heard some Buster Brown, , not bad ! ! ! Did also like Rose Tat, , early Angels....

Fraternity, , , , Easybeats...

AC/DC had to continue without Bon Scott, , , why would they give up., , , But I cant see them continuing as far as they did with Brian if bon was still there....

Bon was great, , but I dont think they would have sold as many albums through the 80's and even 90's with Bon. They might have fizzed out ? ?

What is wrong with Brian in ACDC? He kept ACDC going!

Great bands listed.

Hey guys. Us queenslanders had our skid pan day yesty, and one of the cars broke down. While we were on the side of the road, I went for a walk and found a package. In the package was a record sent from someone on EBAY. It was being sent from Victoria, too Victoria, so I have no idea how it came to be on the side of the road on the sunshine coast. The Record is a Buffalo one, and I had a quick search on Ebay yesty, and it seems it sells for around $132 as its a rare collectors edition. Ive sent an email to the person it was being sent to, but they havent sent one back. Its been heavily water damaged though, which is a shame as the drawings inside are spectacular.
