Default mpeg help!

Hi all,
ive only just learnt how to transfer my digital footage to mpeg, however im finding them too big for what i want (around 15-20mb), does anyone here know how i can make them smaller?

I've found that Windows Movie Maker is quite good when it comes to compressing video down.

Use different codecs to encode them, download K-lite codec pack then get a video program like virtual dub for instance and then you can encode your video to a different codec like Divx or Xvid. Thats how I do it anyway

Yeah I agree Pearly, if you want a quick and simple solution ozzyjim, use Windows Movie Maker (granted you have windows XP of course). It compresses the files down substantially and the quality is decent for what it is.
