Default Financial tips

ive been listening to those audio financial things....anyways i thought id let you know some of the things that might help some people

(taken from Robert G. Allen)
the categories of spending, record all your spending in these

1. contribute the first 10% to god, church, charities

2. then take 10% for yourself

3. your partner 'uncle sam' (something to do with taxes)

4. your shelter...house payments, rent

5. household expenses, groceries...etc

6. auto..fuel, repairs

7. recreation (fun)

8. insurance, house, life, car

9. debt/misc

10. business expenses

anyways keep records of all your spending, if you buy heaps of un necessary stuff try living on 10% less. shop for bargains and make time dont hurry when buying.

also when you save money put that money towards a mutual fund, invest it
live on the one pay check instead of both, never tell anyone how much money you have...theres more but im still listening over 700 minutes to go..lol

feel free to add some tips on saving or anything thats worked for you

..plug all leaks on turn on more financial streams...also if you work the average 40 hours then work an extra 5 or so its more money then what you had before

hope its useful

if you have the money...you'll spend it therefor dont have the money
so get rid of your cards

if you have more cash in your pocket you'll spend it
dont carry more cash then you need

shop for things you need, dont impulse buy

if your bank has heaps of money put it in a fund so it can grow and so you cant touch it

Don't buy unessasary items.
Put your money into your bank account whenever possible.

Work out how much money you want to save each week and keep it aside. Then spend the rest.

I have earned around 9000 over the past year (im a student)
I now have $7200 to spend entirely on a car for when i turn 18.

It's very easy to save money.
Just make up a plan for how to do it and set an appropriate goal which can be reached. Then build upon that.

Only need 1 IMO:

Live within your means

That doesnt mean "no credit"... it means "manageable credit"...

My favorite one was, you can't take 5 houses to the grave with you but you can have a lot of fun getting there in a new car and a speed boat.

Re # 4.
You'd have to be on a significant wage for 10% to cover "your shelter, house payments, rent, morgage"

Most repayments would be at least $200 to $350 ish. If you're NET wages are 2k to 3.5 k per week you wouldn't need tapes to learn how to save.
In theory some sort of savings plan or budget is good but as 4.9 EF Futura said, live within your means. For me, 1 income = girlfriend + baby to support means I barely get 10% for myself let alone churches/charities. pfft.

TIP 1 - Buy up big on concert tickets & re-sell them on ebay.

Hey Chris, how is little Jacey doing??? I havent seen a thread or pics up yet??? Hope Tamara is doing well too!

Hmmm yes, I will always invest more money in my children than any church! There is always something you could spend money on to benefit your kids rather than giving it to a church, no matter how much you have - such as a good education or a trust fund!

I would like to give more to charities though, I have a few favourites. I would also like to sponsor a child one day in a poor country. But never, ever will my money go to a church.

Best way to save money is to not have a mortgage or kids and stay home and live with your parents. Mortgage repayments are obscene, but I guess worth it in the long run. Kids are expensive, but worth it I think.

There are things that make me smile more than money, but it is damned hard to smile when you dont have enough to get by - something I have been very familiar with! When you live on $10K a year as a single parent, studying full time with two small kids, everything after that seems like progress!
