what the FECK is wrong with Sam Newman?!?! i've been watching him for years and he's either the world's biggest idiot or he has a legitimate mental condition. no one comports themselves like that, at that age, apart from Rusty Crowe. but even Russ has nothing on the lengthy timeline of Sammy's gaffes. they really need to get him out of the spotlight before anyone really thinks it's ok act that way.

Good on Sam, I would have done the same thing. They showed the footage on the footy show last night and it showed that the little short grub spat on him.

i want to add my 2 cents worth. working as an ambulance paramedic i 2 have been spat on, got it in the eye from some loser who had had one 2 many glasses of personality who thought it would be tough to have a go at me and my partner because we were helping someone who had been hurt by these thugs. blood tests(stressand worry) and 6 months later get the all clear.
i unfortunately have been to one 2 many david hooks senarios, 1 punch and youve just killed someone. so i think sam should have just lifted his knee into that idiots nether regions. regardless of who it is spitting on someone is rank and deserve a flogging, if you want to punch someone in the head get in a ring and have a crack...

I dont agree with some of the stuff Sam does, but that guy deserved it! Its just like that adeliade footballer, but same was more in the right than him.

Sam can be an idiot and does not pull any punchs. Because of this people who hate him and are of similiar nature bait him, he reacts, and it appears in this case, the supporter who initiated this incident, couldn't handle what Sam had to say, and spat at him. The whole point of the Footy Show showing the incident was to highlight what actually happened, and that the other knob was being the idiot. They were giving lip to Sam before the bloke got up to his face and then spat at him, Newman virtually "pushed" his fist into the guys face, if it drew blood he must have sensitive skin
