Changing files from MPEG avi to FOB

Hi people, i am trying to change a dvd file from MPEG avi to FOB I have no idea what it means but i need to do it so i can burn it on a disc. I dont know how to do it. can someone help?

anyways mpeg/avi/divx to dvd haha ive been trying since i got my first dvd burner in 2001 and every software claims to do it even Nero but where is it? if you open a dvd u see 20-30 files thats 1 movie and converting 1 'raw' movie (mpeg/avi/divx) into that is more difficult then i thought

anyways theres a second option and that VCD, nero does so does many others and there varients like SVCD and DVCD etc

Sorry i'm not sure what you require, it sounds like you have taken/got some movie (in a mpeg or avi format?), that you want to burn to dvd and then play it on a dvd player.. if thats the case

if you want to compile a selection of avi's try tmpgenc to convert all mpeg/avi, the tmpgenc dvd author to create a watchable movie on a dvd player

if you just want to do one single clip, use tmpgenc dvd author, depends on how it was encoded it may be ok and will create it, if it does'nt, then use tmpgenc first.

I have worked my problem out. What I need is a File converter. I downloaded one not realising it was a 'free trial' version, so my movie I have burned with this program has left its 'signature' in the middle of the screen, popping up after every 5 seconds. Very frustrating stuff as it took over an hour to do. I'm on the search for a free one, or if not, I'll have to buy one.

Don't know if you wont to go down this path but try a site like mininova.com and try to find 1 of 2 programs *PIRACY IS BAD!!!* by a company called VSO. Convertxtodvd and Divxtodvd both are 1 click convert avi,mov,xvid etc to playable dvd format, both do the same thing but Convert has amenu function. It is very quick as well..300 meg program gets converted in 20 mins and the program also uses nero or such like to burn it for you....

OK this is the best program to burn a copy of a dvd.

its called dvd shrink. This can copy a dvd straight away. Its easy to use and its freeaware. No spy where. It can get a dvd which is total of 7gb and optimize it to fit on a 4.7gb dvd.

Now to make a avi file to dvd. I use nero recode. It come with my nero 6 ultra.

If you want to rip a dvd to avi file. Use smart ripper to rip the dvd to your computer then. NO1 dvd convertor to convert it to avi.

download the latest version of nero.
that has a dvd video authoring option where you can add most common windows video file types and it will automatically convert and create for dvd player viewing.

Use a program by Imtoo its simply a mpeg to avi converter names AVI MPEG CONVERTER, works well and you can download from various sites like limewire.

Nero Vision does this. Its not in the standard Nero package.

I was told Nero 7 has the convertor?

Dont use the new version which is version 7, it's buggy and has audio sync issues. Use nero vision express from version 6 and all should be good.

And it is a totally free program. No cracks or keys required.

Just downloaded and used "super" to rip some DAT. files off dodgy chinese VCD's I'd bought while in China...wanted the musical tracks off them but even Sony Soundforge wouldn't/didn't read the tracks off the disk. This program converts EVERYTHING and I mean EVERYTHING to a whole range of files. Excellent!!!!!!

Hi you can change any video file type to VOB (Dvd video files) using Nero 7 , contains a program called Nerovision , simple to use , does a great job..
