2006 Summernationals, February 9-11 at Western Sydney International Dragway

A Round for ALL Group 1 Eliminators including Top Fuel, Top Doorslammer, Top Alcohol, Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle and Top Bike

Racing from 4pm-9pm Thursday (Feb9) and from 9:30am Friday (Feb 10) and 8:45am Saturday (Feb 11).

im heading up on the friday should be a good meet

yeh i went up dude didnt have much luck got knocked out first ground but hey how about the group 1 racing on friday night best night of racing i have ever see. and a bump spot of 5.86 in top achool how good was it?

Andriopoulos drove his way through with a clutch the team had no baseline with.

Brilliant work to Jon, and Con from PRE race engines.

what the? all the pro stock teams hit the track hard in the first session and most got a good start line for a tune, it wasnt till the final session when the air got cooler that they tightened the clutchs up and none of them got down clean, were you up there? ps and there are 2 new pro cars on there way to oz and i know were there going hint both to victoria, :party3: to us

Unfortunately the Mopar team didn't get straight runs in qualifying, and went into round one with little baseline on the clutch.

Some teams have a whole lot of engine, some have a whole lot of driver, and inbetween is the clutch. But it sure is nice to know when you need to go conservative, the driver is on the $$$.

I wasn't there unfortunately. Which one is your car??

pro car coming ? its not a ford, i have been left out of the loop with details but what i know i carnt realy tell because the old man doesnt want every tom, dick, and harry knowing about it but i can say he is over there now puting the finishing touches on the deal and it raced on the NHRA circirt last season, and i wont be steering it unfortunately, but maybe having a steer of our altered if everything goes to plan i have been waiting since 96 for this opourtinity, pete ridgeway is getting the other one
jons first run was a 7.40 now correct me if i am wrong but that is a prety good tune to go 0ut first a knock a good number on the board like that!!

7.40 is not a good number for a car that has run wel into the 7.20's... The clutch was not right during qualifying and the guys struggled through it, with one of the best steerers in the land coming to the party

how is the best steera? hey dude it was about 35 degress and a track temp of 100+ i think that is a good number

C'mon Mark, you've grown around the sport, if you don't know a good driver when you see one, maybe pay attention to your dad's driving a bit more for an indication on what a good steerer is.

i know jon is a good driver to drive a pro car takes a lot of skill i was just see if you ment pete ridgeway bacause he wasnt there on the weekend and i throught you ment that he tuned jons car my mistake i apologise for it
plus dads to slow on the lights cause his getting older and has to much jim beam in him LOL

hmmm mate I think you're on the beam : a steerer is a driver, not to be mistaken for a tuner who is as the name suggests a tuner... : I'll let ya off cos I like your dad's car

it turned out to be a great meet how was brett stevens form making to the finals in 3 classes and then allmost making it a hat trick till benny bray knocked him off in top Alcohol lol 2 out of 3 isnt bad i took heaps of pics so ill post some when i get home
