Default Has anyone played with Google Earth? Its great!!

I am enjoying going from place to place!! You can zoom in on your house, or the grand canyon, etc.

Turn on the latitude and longitude and go here :

E144degree24'33" S37degree53;15"

Where do you go if you go here? Somewhere we would like to hide in the bushes at!! ;-D

^ Not that there is any information that isn't available elsewhere.

Sigh - one does tire at the media's current "anti-terror terror campaign".

Yeah Google Earth is amazing, the 3d grand canyon is spectacular. My computer is far too slow to run Google Earth properly but I have had a play on my brothers machine.

Let's just say the local roads there are named after famous physicists.

I think it's a nuclear power plant. I heard about this on the news, some people are concerned that you can see it from google earth. I agree with the previous comments about hysterical media.

The Hoover dam is as clear as a bell and check out the Suez canal.

Gotta love Kiwi's : , however you are WRONG. Australia has NO nuclear Power. Lucas Heights is ANSTO, or Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation. It is used to create Isotopes for use in medicine and other nuclear related research. The Government here believe that it it is a terror threat, however the reactor (yes I have seen it) is the size of a NRL Football. If it got hit, it would not damage the CBD of Sydney, it would only go as far as Bangor, to the west of the Shire.

This is mad!

My mate has spent the last 5 minutes scrolling slowly over his ex-girlfriend's house making noises like a bomber dropping a nuke!

I zoomed in on the top of the office building where I work... apparently we have air-conditioning. When I asked why it wasn't turned on, I was told that they were "inefficient" and as such had been turned off. (which means the stingy company is trying to cut costs by not using it)

Google is my FRIEND!

NASA has a similar program called World Wind. A guy at work has it and it is sensational.

Downloaded the Google one the other day and am impressed with it. Zoomed in on my Brother-in-Law's work and could make out his car....zoomed to my house and saw the car park next to it etc. Isn't the best visually close up, but hey it is only 10mb. The NASA one is 180mb!

I'm sure I can see my car on Google Earth as well, not too many Orange cars in my units. Would have snapped me as I was going out too because it's always garaged.
