Default Holden Effigy Concept to go into production ?

Today's Herald Sun has an article claiming the Holden Effigy Concept "may" go into production.
The attention gained while in the states has seen million dollar plus offers for the car by quite a few Billionaires, Oil Sheiks, and even the Russian presidents brother.
Holden claim they may do a limited production run of 100 which will retail for more than the $1.2 million the original hand built prototype cost.

Mmmmm, supercharged 6 Litre !
I for one would love to see one on the road

Hmm

There are a few cars that have gone from concept car to production car and haven’t sold that well. Chev SSR and the Ford Thunderbird spring to mind.

Am I the only one who thinks this car is stupid?
I hardly think its retro and if it was made into a production car i don't think many would sell for that price, but hey, thats just me.

Rumour is that a limited run "MAY" be considered. Ford needs to do the same with a re-make of the 49' Single Spinner. John Katsanis of Kustoms Of Australia fame is also doing a custom FJ-FX.

Think you might be getting a bit mixed up with what they mean by "production". We're not talking "production" as in you can walk into your local Holden dealer and order one, we're talking about a limited run of these cars done for people with serious dollars behind them.

Good on them for doing it, always liked this car. Holden do have some very good ideas when it comes to concept cars.

Love it, when's Ford doing a limited Cuzzo? :P

If I was a billionaire and Holden said they'd make 100 of these, i'd grab one easy.

Such a shame it's a Holden, 'cause it's a fantastic looking sled.

$1.2M : I'd visit Boyd Coddington or Chip Foose and get two or three made up and still have change to go on a holiday and build a garage to house them....

Nice but not $1.2M nice....

If a limited run does go ahead, its actually going to be done by Tom Walkinshaw and a range of offsprings which include Holden Motorsports and Elfin Sports Cars. I dare say the original designer Richard Ferlazzo will over see this.

I don't like the look of it...

The car will be nothing but a status symbol in the end...

It's not an answer to anything, the car was built to showcase Holden's design/engineering prowess.

It just happened that they are getting some million dollar plus offers for it.
