Default What a disgrace

Regarding the stabbing of a doctor in Noble Park, who was stabbed multiple times in a crowded waiting room at a local GP office.

It is so sad to see these sorts of things happening especially to people who help the community and help other people.

What's worse the murderer will probably get a lenient sentence without any true justice to the husband and family who will suffer for the rest of their lives.

I'm apalled.

Exactly!

Seeing the news images of the husband made me sad & angry, his life is forever changed due to the actions of some loser (possibly mentally challenged or drug induced psychosis).

Really gets your blood boiling.

It is totaly shameful. It happens on an almost weekly basis here in the Alice. Every week a nurse or orderly or doctor or anyone in the hospital really, gets assaulted in some way. And people wonder why they have trouble getting medical professionals in the outback.

If anyone remembers the show Forensic Investigators it shows similar cases where the offender goes to jail for *cough* life sentence but has parole and comes out in 15 years for one or two or three murders, if it's called life, doesn't that mean *life* ?

At least they caught they guy in this case and I hope it's an indefinete sentence, knowing the system though they'll cry "mentally insane" which is a loophole that needs to be plugged.

The sad news is this guy will claim he grew up with Violence in his native country {Sudhan I beleive} and get about a quater of the maximum penalty. Theres always an excuse; Like the one who went threw the school fence at 10am over .05 with no licence and caused a school kid to have his leg amputated and wear a false leg for the rest of his life and the legal side claimed he hadnt been edecuted on drink driving so what happened? He Walked.

Yeah I remember that, poor kid.

It's a rough area in the general Dandenong-Noble Park-Springvale-Doveton region.

But there is NO excuse for killing someone, I couldn't care less about someone's background, history. A murder is a murder and all of these types should be treated equally (under these circumstances).

Once you rob someone else of the right to exsist, IMO, you automatically forfeit that right yourself. I hope this guy spends the rest of his life behind bars (at the minimum), but more likely we'll see him on the streets in under 10.

I'll be a happy man when 'truth in sentancing' becomes a reality (won't hold my breath) :

I support heavy sentencing. I wont ever support the death penalty. The reason why is simple.

If a person is wrongly convicted and sentenced to life, they can be released.
You cant repeal a death sentence.

I agree.

I only support the death sentence, if it's a horrific crime and the police have enough evidence, for a trueful conviction.

Otherwise life, is a suitable sentence.

i fully support the death sentence, but should only be issued when there is no doubt whatsoever, like that port arthur massacre, but i think murder should carry a mandatory life sentence without parole... EVER... because look at chopper, he's making a shatload of cash because idiots think he is a celebrity. when he is just a pitiful murderer.... anyways thats just my opinion...

Well, I guess ill just give an idiots opinion here.

Some of the most famous personalities of history have been murderers and worse. Reading their experiences in their own words gives an insight to the darker side of human personality, and the underworld of crime that exists in our society.

If you choose not to care or understand, all you are doing is proclaiming your ignorance.

And ignorant people, usually fall foul of the things they dont understand.

Rather than locking up an recent immigrant, i believe deportation back to their cesspool would be a better punishment.

I agree nicholas,

It was in local media that some drug users in St Kilda were threatening doctors that they will 'top' themselves if they didn't get special medical certificate forms or centrelink medical forms.

If people wish to use drugs, why should anyone help them? There is better ways to spend tax payers money, like on hospitals for *genuinely* sick people.
