And this is why I traded my Mustang rather than running the gauntlet of selling privately. I recently listed and sold a number of high-end garden tools, the amount of nonsense I had to deal with was unbelievable. And just think, we allow people to breed freely.

Thats a cultural thing with them, they don't value anyone's time and wont think twice about bogging you down for something they never intend on purchasing, I call them 3030s (Point Cook's post code).

I got a sixth sense for people trying to negotiate with me, easy way to do it was RRP + 20%, then give 10% 'discount' and they think they got a win.

I do the same if the guy has a strong white accent and is white. They are the most entitled bunch like they're doing me a favour buying what I have for sale and i should give it to them for virtually nothing. They typically come with a mate who is an "expert" on the subject.

When selling my Mercs and the Race car, the white people just wasted my time. The ones that bought them were the Greek/Italians.

I was almost waiting for your reply. On par with the comebacks from Asanka Ratnayake twenty years ago.

What a completely low trust society modern Australia has become!

I just don't sell to anyone. It's why I end up keeping my cars so long and they 4x to 30x in price.

You could list a car free and people would want you to drive it to their place and drop it off i reckon.

Pretty sure Greeks and Italians are white last time I checked

Good thing they weren't Maltese

2005 BF GT with 160,000km. BF GT is my favourite looking Ford ever mate, if I could pick one up for 25k in reasonable condition, i'd be very tempted. Just a shame I dont like the engine, otherwise i'd have one in my garage already.

Swap it for a Miami. They're for sale for $23k at Jefferson Ford.

I will say a cammed BOSS 5.4 is a great cruiser with beautiful engine note. The Miami doesn't come close IMO.

It’s not just second-tier cars that are suffering value drops. This caught my eye; probably owes the dealer $2500.

(Ticks a lot of boxes for me; French, historically imbued, patinæd, neither flashy nor stratospherically priced. Shame I don’t really need it!)

Talk about value drops.
I had a look at this a few months ago when he had $22k on it. A few cosmetic issue not disclosed which put me off (along with Camry indicator/wiper stalks and me having a too high of an expectation of ride quality) but not a deal breaker at his current price.

The market is dead.

In all my years buying and selling cars, etc. I cannot recall it ever being this slow, infact slow would be something, nothing is moving at all.
Even dealer listed popular daily drivers that have been listed for weeks arent moving and seeing price reductions.

The market is flooded with Prado's since the new model arrived in showrooms, which is what an industry insider friend predicted, yards cant move the tradeins.

I traded mine last week thankfully to a country dealer and it would seem I got good money but am yet to take delivery of the replacement so the Prado is still in my drive.
I thought Id list it to see If I could get a bit more privately, set the price below dealer manual examples, mine has between 50-100k less k's and reduced it gradually to below trade in value, nothing, not even arshdeep requesting emails.
