i have touch wizz keyboard on the note, on the whole from what little i know about smart phones, i have to say i really like it, although initially it took a bit of practice to get the hang of, when in landscape the predictive text is pretty good imo.

Couldn't you just tap the phones together, I forget the techie name but someone here will remind me.

I did that going from From a HTC to my Samsung III, pics, phone numbers, the lot!

BUT I do have a donkey as a Home Computer which is so slow anyway - that would probably be why Kies takes ages for me

You can't transfer data settings for email so that has to be done manually (email settings)

Internet surfing works a bit different and haven't worked out how to save a page to the home screen yet - I know how to bookmark it

It is squarer than the S3 and is nicer to hold

Just learning atm

What's the output volume level like on the S4 ( headphones and when comnnected by the media Jack )
The S3 is terrible - preamp volume output is too low. Need to crank up the volume on the GT to 22 for anything decent. When I had my iPhone 4 - the output volume was much higher.
Hope they have fixed this in the S4 as I'm looking at upgrading to S4 at end of year.

received my S4!!! awesome phone.. coming from an S2..

I also have an Iphone 5 for work so I have best of both worlds!!

The S4 is still very easy in the pocket/hand etc despite being a 5 inch screen.

Does it have the same charging port as the s2?

I doubt it, its not a once a year offering, like the money making ho's of the Call of Duty series.

I was scanning the google play for apps and noticed an app to increase the volume, i don`t think it was phone specific(but i could be wrong), actually at the time i was looking for an app that uses the gps to via the road speed................ to control the radio/cd volume in the car via the blue tooth, .......you know, it rises a little as the road speed increases and white noise increases and reduces automatically when you stop for lights.
Pretty cool just about anything you can think of with regard to apps......... they are there, gotta love android.

This SGS3 thread is still going strong it seems.

I wanted a 'newish' phone, similar to the S3 but didn't want to spend the $400 they are selling for.

After a little digging around I found this:

http://www.kogan.com/au/buy/lg-optim...android-phone/

A fair bit cheaper than the S3, but without too many compromises IMO:

The S3 compared to the LG has:

* Slightly better front camera
* A few mm taller
* Slightly better bluetooth?? (A few extra letters after it)
* Slightly larger screen (but same res)

Not much in it really? The LG also scores better on gsmarena (but bombs out in the 'daily interest' score).

Got the LG for $269 with free delivery last week (although now it's $279)

Should arrive in a week or 2.

See what happens ;)

After a 'discussion' with Optus last week I cancelled my order for my s4, now just waiting to see what they're going to do to repair customer relations.

I still want a s4 lol

how's the LG going?

i'm thinking about buying one at the moment. my 2.5 year old HTC Desire HD is slowly dying - small patch of dead pixels, getting slower to use and slower to restart once turned off.

i bought a S3 a few months ago but it seemed very light and flimsy (old htc is metal vs S3 plastic) so i didn't want to take it to work (trade). so my wife got the S3 and i kept my old phone.

i remembered someone had mentioned the LG optimus so i thought i'd have a look at it, looks like decent specs and a good price. the other option i have is to get my sisters iphone4s, but i don't want itunes to take over my computer.

Slightly off topic I know but.....

I just bought a point and shoot Samsung 'smart' Camera. (WB800F), this little sucker has a touch screen and Wi-Fi, so you can send the pics to your Galaxy SIII then via dropbox to your PC.

You can also use the SIII as a remote shutter release on the Camera!!
