Default Star Track Express

Anyone here had any experience with this courier company?

I'm having some rims shipped from over east with this mob and they are so far proving difficult to deal with concerning finding out where my items are. I have a tracking number, but5 all it states when I type it in on their site is that it's "In Transit". Where? I thought the idea of a tracking service is to see where your item is in transit.

I rang their call center and they have no idea where it is. Just that its in transit. Im expecting it to reach perth today, but going by google searches, no one gets notified when it arrives. So I may just pop in to the depot after work.

anyone else had any experience with this mob?

Used to use them a lot at my last job, never had a problem with them either. They never lost any of our stuff (Which is more than can be said about a certain other large carrier), and we found them to be very competitively-priced compared to other carriers. Surprisingly, they also tended to deliver quicker than other carriers as well.

In short, I'd give my parcel to Star Track before any of the other courier companies.

StarTrack is now owned by AusPost.

Just be sure to package anything you send with them, robustly...

It would be impossible to track an item 24/7.

In transit means it is either on the road, or waiting to be checked in at the depot. Also the online systems are usually behind and not real time.

Tracking only happens when it scans and its only scanned depot to depot.

I use and receive with Star Track, never had a problem touch wood but the tracking is pretty much worthless if you need real time tracking.

As others have mentioned, it is Aust Post and Australia Post tracking is just the same.

Having used them in the past I think you should just be prepared that 'it'll get there when it gets there'. It seems when you really want something it takes longer and because of that I've had trouble finding any couriers I'm happy with

Used to work for Star Track years ago. If memory serves me correct, if your item has its own specific barcode, you should be able to trace where it was last scanned and at what time. I.e into or out of a depot or onto a delivery driver's truck.

It would have had a listing on there saying picked up. Then scanned into depot. If moving between depots, in transit. So what you want to see is a scan into Perth and on the day they're being delivered it would say on board for delivery.

When did you order them? From the day they are shipped, Perth deliveries would take 3 working days from Melbourne for example. Maybe 4 from Brisbane/Qld

It was sent from Sydney on Tuesday arvo. I just rang star track and she said two have been scanned in to perth but unsure about the other two. So I'm just gonna head to the depot after work today.

It was supposed to be sent last week as I need the rims by this weekend. The wheel shop i ordered them through is hopeless and sent them nearly a week late despite lieing to me repeatedly telling me they were sent last week. They are meant to be delivered to mandurah but I need them by tonight if I can get them so I will head to the depot after work today.

Yeah, I hear what you are saying but if it's on the way to be delivered it won't be at the depot.

Did you give authority to leave without a signature?

PM me the con note number and I'll call my contact and see if I can jiggle it up for ya

Sorry mate, a bit late, just got it, looks like you won't see it until Tuesday morning.
Was informed it was on the way to the Bunbury depot?

EDIT: did you get it?

Yeah mate, rocked up there as the truck was loading up. The supervisor went above and beyond to help me, let me out the loading area, unloaded the truck, searched for my rims and got them for me and helped me load them into my work hack.

Awesome!

Pics to come. Thanks for enquiring for me too mate I appreciate it.

I've used Start Track numerous times and never had any problems with them. Another freight company I can highly recommend for freight between South Australia and Mildura is Northern Kope Freight....They are an awesome company to deal with.

You must be one lucky fella, the dock guys don't usually do that sort of thing on a Friday arvo.

WELL DONE and show us ya pics mate

I think a company like Star Track is geared towards account holders. So, if you have an account and a login, you can get an online quote.
Pricing varies by the size of the customer, Star Track might offer discount rates
on the customer's most popular destinations to win the customer. The company I work for transfers stock between Melbourne and Sydney warehouses regularly, so would get better rates there. If we sent something to Perth occasionally, the discount wouldn't be offered or would be smaller.

I'd say VERY lucky, in that he was able to pick it up at the depot.
