Not just "any car"...on a lot of cars the boot opening at the very rear of the car (between the taillights) goes from wide at the top and slopes inwards to a narrower opening above the bumper because of the way a lot of taillights wrap right around the back of the car now, further than they used to ...doesn't make for a very comfortable or very wide seat. That's why older cars with a virtually "straight up and down each side" opening like an old XY or Kingswoods are so popular.

Ive got the back end of an old MQ/MK nissan patrol shorty in the work area
There good as the top edge where your arm rests has no ruff edges
They dont need a floor made up , as you would with something with a fuel tank in there

But IF i could get the rear of an XC, id do one for the games room

Ive got a rear cut from a HR here ,anyone interested, come take it

i can do a 4door xc but the boot dont really lend itself to a lounge shape i reckon. needs the square boot style. hr was a nice big boot but the badge kinda makes me say no unfortunately mate.

There is a way around this "between the lights" problem, get creative... turn it around and have the seat the other way now its a free standing couch... make two and and V8 coffee table to match, be one cool looking settee

Just had another thought... do a front end and a rear end of the same car, coffee table in between

You actually don't need a whole car to do this. All you need is a bumper, tail-lights and the rear of the rear quarter panels. The rest you can make up out of square tube and some folded sheet metal. You could easily use some damaged or repro stuff.

I have a T2 bumper put away for just this purpose down the track.

Dunno how I missed the pic of the 4door there. I got a 4door I can hack up to replicate that one but I was gunna cut about 2" off the whole side and hang it in my shed ala the whole side of it. Now I gotta decide if I use it as a lounge. Bah. It's only a v8 gxl fairmont body.

hack up two mini coopers for arm chairs.. then take your pick of an old classic wide bummed vehicle.

These are all fibre glass... and were taken in Cairns last weekend.
(not my me).

Dunno what company sells them or who makes them... but check the table out!

I reckon a Ford rear with tailights that arent horizontally "long". So XK-XY, or ZA-ZD.

Maybe even Galaxie. Unfortunately theres a lot of neglected examples out there where the body could be used for things such as this.
