Awesome fishing session you had over there!!!... You guys must have had a ball!!!

Speaking of land based game fishing I used to regularly visit The Pulpit in Green cape in Southern NSW.. Haven't been back for quite a while!!! Still gotta save up for a nice 20ft game boat though....

Nice fish. 7 1/2 years ago I worked with Mark and Clayton. They were definitely funny blokes.

I've seen some guys doing shark fishing for Thresher's in Wilson's Promontory, Victoria. They used a helium balloon to take the livebait offshore, interesting to watch

Very nice haul of fish there. Don't those Cobia's run too, and always a big kick just before you land them. Love the shirts too!

We get a few good fish down here, but you have to put in a heap more effort to catch something biggish.
Done alright last Saturday night.........

I have have fished here about 3 times since living down here. 2yrs ago I bought 2 new rods (nothing fancy, Daiwa Sweepfire and Jarvis Walker Ultra Power) and have yet to even use them. When I first came down I brought 3 rods, including my first 8ft one given to me when I was 6, but times got tough and I sold them all a long time ago. Would love to go out and teach my daughter but I just never get around to it.

Rockhopper next time you go to steep, stop in at Dickos and pams and ask em if u can camp at thunder bay (30kms north of the point). All you will catch are baldies and pinkies using crab off the lower reef

awesome mate, great write up as well. some great pinky's there, actually i dont think i saw one fish there that wasn't worth reeling in. how good are cobes, i got onto an 18kg one last year, still goes down as one of the best fish i have ever caught. wasn't going to head out fishing this weekend, but after reading this it has got me amped. just rang the boys, off to the reef tomorrow for a fish and dive hahahaha
