Was taken at Universal Studios whilst on holidays. This is the real GTR (flared guards) also had brembos and the GTR interior(obviously). The car was used throughout "most" of the movie. They also had the 70 Dodge charger from the first movie which was a rolling shell complete with fake blower

Well that's cool, I just assumed it wasn't GT-R in the movie because of the RWD thing. I'm glad that's been cleared up

As far as drifiting a GTR it is as simple as pulling out the AWD fuse I am lead to believe....or as someone mentioned there is the torque splitter thing you can buy.

where did you get that picture?
I've been told that the next generation GTR is going to be based off the current skyline/infiniti G35

Pretty sure the new skyline is more Infiniti based. Basically looks nothing like a skyline bar the rear lights.
This is the concept. |

Its about time something else pops up though.

Rest assured folks not matter what it looks like it will still kick **** like always. I think they were trying to decide what engine to run last I heard anything about it. They were thinking either a V8 (maybe twin turbo) or just the usual I6 twin turbo. I like the V8 TT option

I had heard somewhere that it was going to be a 3.5L v6 (the current engine) except twin turbo'd and with 4wd.

The RB26 or any version of the RB strait six hasn't been made since the R34 was superseded. The new V35 runs various capacity V6's as is hinted with the name, all naturally aspirated as far as I know. I don't think the strait six passed the new emission laws in Japan.
Those pictures of new GT-R have been doing the rounds since 1999. |

Bleh, i sure hope they don't stuff that Peugeot v6 into the new Skyline. That would surely be the hight of sacrilidge. I know there are plenty of Peugeot engines in nissan cars, but really, theres too much history to go ruining the new model now!

i dont like most of the concept pics of the GTR. they are losing a lot of the aesthetically pleasing things from all of the previous models bar the tail lights. i love the big flared guards and the longish coupe design. the r34 gtr is a dream car. but i think id rather a stock ea 3.9 auto with 843,875 k's on the clock painted taxi yellow... lol

Whats wrong with a BA (or BF) GT-P or F6. I think either one is better than a Skyline. The japs dont know about building cars. Every red blooded man loves the sound of a V8.

Pretty sure an R34 GTR would beat both the Phoon and GT on the track and on the 1/4 mile. As much as I like V8s, I love Jap Imports just as much. If i was to get any FPV it would be a Phoon.

I'll bet the 4 liter in the F6 has a better bottom end than the RB26DETT does. Now the R34 has a clear weight advantage, plus 4x4, but I bet a built F6 could take an R34.

Re-reading your post, a built F6 would take an R34 stock, but a built R34 would blow the moon out of it's orbit with it's exhaust flow at full throttle... Easily the God of Japanese performance cars the R34 GT-R.

2 things:
1) Yes that was a RHD car and yes it was imported from JAP just for the movie. remember it's "exotic" over there, despite tons being on our roads. 2) For a great laugh check this flash out - a freaking hilirious parody of 2F2F. http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/222150 It's 3wesome!
