Default No Drag Racing @ Calder In April

iMPORTANT MESSAGE to Drift & street drag competitors

Due to major works and improvements to the Drag Strip, the Drift Practice and Legal Off Street Drag Racing events will not be held during the month of April, 2008.

The next Legal Off Street Drag event will be held Friday night 2 May 2008 (weather permitting!).

The next Drift Practice event - stay tuned for further notice

To what extent are the improvements there? Just surfacing works or amenities/grandstands etc too?

No idea probably spending a bit more of that reported $8 to $10 million the state government gave them.
Hopefully they fix the dip in the track just before half way you see the quick comp cars bounce out of that dip.

You never know Cam, they might be getting a truckload of rock out from you and they will get you to drive by each pot hole and they will tip 3 pieces of gravel into each, to reduce the depth of the pothole?

My opinion is he will be getting the track all sorted for circut racing. I was there a few weeks ago and noticed the amount of work going on around the pit garages near the finish line grandstand. I reckon he is making a circut race pit area so he can get the v8 sillycars back. Drag racing will never be Bob's main priority.

If that is the case and with HPR up for sale the future of drag racing in VIC doesnt look too good

Just saw the photo's from friday nights street meet on fullboost.com and i couldn't see any improvements to the race track anyway??????

Supposed to be moving the walls in for a new CAMS licence, also moving the start line forward at some stage.
Rumour has it they ripped all the wiring up when they had the crusty demons there while moving the dirt out and it took the whole month to fix wiring.

That's the same that is happening at AIR here in Adelaide they are redoing the curcuit not to sure on the strip . They said they were but not sure on that detail. :
