Like i said before. Prevention is better. Any spider you see get a deo can and lighter VS spider. They just get wasted. Lol my mates think im crazy for doing it but be ****ed to get the insect spray. Takes too long to DIE. I wonder what spider did that. Some chick at my high school got bitten on the face by a huntsman once and even long after was still swollen up. Still is for all i know. Maybe a white tail spider bit ya. Apparently they are real nasty.

Pea Boe One Shot cockroach killer. That stuff will waste any spider, and won't blow your hand up in the process. Not quite as much fun as the flamethrower though....

Holy crap!
I got bitten in the same place once it hurt like hell, it didn't quite get to that size though. I hope the doc has you on antibiotics and gave you a tetanus injection and drugs.. oh yeah drugs, gotta have drugs. Keep a heat pack on it to draw the crap to the surface and it might give you some relief too. Unfortunately it's the time of year when the evil little creatures come inside looking for warmth. Keep your clothing off the floor, shake it out before you bring it off the washing line, check your bedding before you get into bed and if you're going to nuke your house, turn off all the pilot lights in the house. Don't want to nuke your house completely. :P Hope your feeling a bit of relief soon mate.

Racecraft, that's brilliant!
Also Davway, you could try a product called Magnoplasm. Go get it from the chemist - it's a drawing ointment. It'll draw the stuff out of the lump. Just lather it on the lump (it's pretty thick so stand the container in hot water to melt it down a bit) and cover it with a bandage, and very soon it'll bring it all to a head and pop, gone.

well at 9.30am this morning i decided i better pull off some of the flaking skin so it looks a little prettier for the doc. first bit i pulled off opened up a great flowing ocean of puss. WAHOO!!! finally some relief!!! squeezing all i could out of it was happily thinking that now i wont have to get it stabbed. got about half the fluid out before it came to a stop so i headed off to the docs. told him (this time) about it popping and happily waiting for a reply of "thats good, should be right now". but NOOOOOO.....all i got was "we'll give you a local anaestetic (sp?) and cut it open to remove the rest. gonna take a while some come back at 6pm"
great, just friggin great. not only do i have to enjure more pain, i have to pay the damn doc for 2 visits which is gonna cost me over $100. the last few weeks ive only been getting 2 days a week and now with over due bills it just isnt working. on top of that ive had all my shifts this week cancelled because of this thing and wont be working again till next wednesday. add on the $200 this thing has cost me and im royally screwed big time from lack of money. being a casual gives you good pay but when your living on a knife edge for over a month this kinda thing has the potential to break you. gonna be fun to see which creditor comes after me first this time. anyway enough whinging i guess, just a little ****ed off. its time for spider genocide......think Hiroshima. |

ok a bit of an update if anyone is interested.
bulk billing: fully bulk billed, cost me nothing. second: the 'lump'. had it cut open like i mentioned earlier and had the fluid drained out. had to go back to the docs about 3 days in a row to have it checked. the cut was left open but covered for those 3 days so it could continue to drain itself. monday morning the cut was left exposed to heal itself which it has done nicely. there is still a bit of fluid left in there (the 'hollow' in the throat it actually not a hollow yet) but that will be left for 2 weeks so it has a chance to do its own thing. 'if' by that time it hasnt gone away it will be drained again, and rechecked. also, even if it does go away, theres a good chance that there will be a 'pocket' left behind the skin which could cause problems later on. if there is a pocket, its a trip to the plastic surgeons to get an injection of some glue type stuff that will bond the skin back to the meat of the throat and then it will grow itself back together forming what should be the hollow in the throat. well thats about how it all stands at the moment. im pain free and have full use of my neck again, and dont have the 'tasmanian' look about me, so all is good. |

Ok can I recommend a cream that will really help heal this? It's called The Scarless Healer and you can get it from a health food shop.
A few weeks ago my hubby got out of his car at work and felt dizzy, then woke up kissing the concrete. Rushed to hospital with a smashed face (and glasses), he was sent home after being glued (not stitched) back together. He looked like a horror movie extra. I told him to use this cream (even on his open wounds) and a week later it looked like barely anything was there. All his workmates were asking about this miracle cream to the point where he brought it in and showed them the jar. Give it a try
