Default Foxtel dead?

Has anyone else's Foxtel died on them today? Ours just stopped dead at about midday and hasn't come back. Wondering if its just local or everyones has died.
Cant get hold of Foxtel, number is busy. I'm guessing complete chaos in there at the moment.

Glad its not just me then. Both our boxes crapped out the same time.. kids had psychotic episodes about 30 seconds later :

So far I've managed to clean up the shed and carport out of boredom... maybe this should happen more often.

We got offered a new payTv package last week called Select Tv www.selecttv.com.au its a new pay tv started by WIN

Cheaper than Foxtel with a lot of the same channels, but there are some crucial channels missing that would be frequently watched on foxtel. Although, they are planning on introducing more channels as time goes on.

Foxtel's only good for the Footy. I'm not playing $40 a month so I can watch a few footy games a month.

Not to mention the 15 or so music channels, endless documentaries the crime channels and the movies. Combine it with an IQ set top box and your set, premier league coming up on the sports channel soon. Geez Foxtel is good.

Well Foxtel serves me very well with the ACC channel, great live motorsport coverage, movies, classic movies & TV shows plus history, national geo, discovery etc.

Very nice indeed.

Sometimes you need to hold two buttons on the box down for a few seconds to reset it. We had an orange light come on and lock out any viewing until I rang them and got the solution.

Never surrender -

Try SelecTV, good if your not AUS sports mad and would like a few nice channels, cheap and no contracts!

http://www.selectv.com/

You can use your own decoder, or repoint an existing!

Basic Pack $29.95/month add Discovery Pack for $5.95/month.

The EPG on most standard aftermarket decoders, for the movie channels works out tom 7 days, typically.

With that many channels there must be a hell of a lot of crap tv to fill in the gaps.

oh believe me there is a lot of crap! Its mostly like FTA only marginally better.

My olds have had foxtel for years and when I lived at home it wasn't terribly interesting. I went there a while ago to visit, saw a program then 6 months later I visited again and saw the same program.

Fox8 is TV's dumping ground for shite.

See if you can find a show called "Paradise Cove", I think that's what it was called. It was on at 3:30am in the morning when we were over there and it was an.......interesting show. First show we saw had a couple of lesbians going for it and the second show was OK from memory. Funnily enough, we couldn't catch it all the other times we tried. Mustn't have been on anymore. Was just the thing you need after working afternoon shift and finishing work at 2am in the morning and had got a couple of beers down.

As for Foxtel, would never get it. The in-laws have it and whenever I am there, there is never anything on it to watch. I just start at one channel, scroll through them all and end up where I started without even changing the channel. Waste of money if you ask me.

What's going up by $10? Foxtel or Optus?
