Default GT4 Section?

Mods,

I'm unsure if this issue has been brought up before, so apologies if I'm repeating it.

There seem to be a lot of threads about GT4, so maybe for a little while, say 3-6 months we could have a section just for it?

I've got no idea who would mod it, but I'm sure someone wouldn't mind.

If we can get enough support for it could we get it up and running? There are quite a few threads around the place, and it would be good to have them all in one spot.

Allan

yeap that woudl be even better.

There are other car games than GT4?...lol

Also it shouldn't matter what platform it is either. Maybe the thread title could look like this:

PS2 - GT4 Top Speed contest

or

PC - F1 2004 help

Something like that.

Yeah that's a good idea IMO, but maybe it would be more feasable for a "gaming" section or something?

yeah a videogames section would be great - perhaps there could be competition threads as sticky's and just general threads for everything else...

i reckon it'll work well

Maybe even to expand, a Computer related section and then maybe Gaming and PC sub forums? After all San Andreas is coming to PC soon I'm sure there will be atleast 1 thread on that. I dunno just a suggestion.

I think a computer game section would be a good idea.

hmm all good ideas.

But I think it should just stick to car/computer games as this is a car forum in the first place.

What do the admin/mods think?

Excellent idea.

A general computer section would be a handy reference too, for fairly common things, like Windows problems, system specs etc.

Personally, I don't see the point, we have an off topic forum that is not being overwhelmed by posts, and this is predominantly a car forum afterall, I don't see the need for another sub forum to deal specifically with computers/games etc, sure if it was overwhelming the off topic section we already have, then i'd say give it a go, but as it is not, and is not likely to, then why the need for another subforum?

yeah its a good point, and I can understand people not wanting another sub forum. But computer game threads are not going to go away in a hurry, and there are GT4 threads in various sections already anyway.

Plus, to be honest, I dont want to have to search through the Bar to access a GT4 thread for example. It might seem lazy, but to have all game related stuff in the one area would be good.

Not to sure about windows stuff though, just games IMO.

Thats what OCAU, Sharkeys and a million other internet forums are for.

I'm all for GT4 posts etc but its a car forum (real cars, not games) and that should be the primary focus in the end.

I can understand what you are saying about other sites, such as OCAU, but with all due respect, I don't think it's a good reason for not adding another section for computer/video games, computers, etc.

I've become a member of many other forums that are setup specifically for computers and gaming, and I don't visit them anymore. The difference, to me at least, between those forums and this one, is the "atmosphere" - the people that post there and the attitudes they have. On the computer forums I've seen, a lot of the people seem to be particularly rude towards each other, not to mention bitchy and very much driven by a "mines bigger/faster/more expensive then yours" type attitude. Its the people that make a forum, and that, to me at least, is what makes this forum as good as it is and a place I keep coming back to and being an active member of.

Also, I think that it would be a good idea to have a seperate place for computer and gaming discussions, so that people who have no interest can ignore them.

I don't think it would change the primary focus of the forum, which will always be real cars, but would give people a place to ask for help with computer issues, as well as discussions on video games, without it being mixed in among all the general off topic stuff in the bar.

My opinion, your mileage may vary.

I guess you could look at photoshopping in a similiar way.
