Likewise, do some people ever think that they may actually be annoying customers without realising it?

A bit rich don't you think considering how many people have had bad experiences and we had a person who actually works for TTF come on here and admit there was an issue with some franchisees. Think and read things through before you post otherwise you may offend some people.

if I asked for one brand/ model of tyre and got another and then asked them to fit the right one does that make me annoying tyre just because some monkey wants to rip me off?

some people need to do what the customer wants and take some pride in their work

You can't please everybody, but TTF needs to look at is customer service long and hard. Being flamed on a site like this won't be doing them any favours. But they brought it on themselves.

I don't think another flame is needed, but...

TTF in Fremantle. I had a blowout, was 2 streets from them.... So off I go with my 18" Steel Alloy Rim, hiked up to the shop...

Wouldn't replace the tyre and insisted they had to do a wheel alignment... never before have I heard such BS... Needless to say I had my rim taxi'd to Bob Jane and they fixed it on the dot, and CHEAPER than TTF...

Sounds like its a national attitude problem :/

Exactly. I think if you research before purchasing most things you won't get thrown around by some jerk trying to sell based on their own gain (commission).

Chalk up another vote for Widetread in FTG.

Before I bought my last set of tyres I asked a million questions; on this very forum, researched around and looked for advice. I finally decided what I wanted and got several quotes locally. I walked into Widetread who I told what I wanted, no fuss and no trying to convince me otherwise. They were very cheap too. I was booked in early the next day and went home rolling on my new rubber on time like they said.

I guess you can say that becuase you posted previously that you are the guy that comes into the shop at closing time and expects the full tyre change!
Man if I worked there I would ****** off out the door and leave you there!
But if anyone is ever in Mount Gambier South Australia and needs good service look up BUCIK TYREPOWER.... I dont work there but they always look after me and my family (parents and brother) with our tyres and nothing is too much trouble for them (pick up you and your car etc). They even did the brakes on my EA Fairmont for me once when they dont really offer the service (the guy was experienced with brakes though!).
There is another REPUTABLE Bridgestone dealer in town who did some supspension work on my XB Fairmont one time, and in putting it on the hoist (right under the sills mind you) ******** the left rear sill near the wheel opening. I paid the bill walked out to find the front edge of the guard lip sticking out at right angles. when I blew up the service manager about it he blamed me for having a car with rust in it (which was naff all just typical XB) and wouldnt do anything about it. They did the same thing to a friends new Rodeo dual cab, flattened the sills by hoisting it wrong. Come to think of it they wrote off a guys new statesman when one of the tools there drove it into a wall by being a ****er in it.
So ****** you Trident Tyre Centre on Bay Rd......I finally found a way to get my own back on you!

I can only say good things about TTF. I used to get great deals and excellent service. But I did have family who worked at there. ;)

Anyone care to name the bad sales people? Chances are I know who they are.

Most of these horror stories seem to be related to Melbourne service. Frankly I have been on the receiving end of some shocking service in Melbourne. The pace of life must be slower there or something. Queues take forever and if someone has something you want they act like they are doing you a favour by selling it to you. I have been all over Australia and Melbourne has the slackest service. I may have improved in the last couple of years, I hope so.
