Thats with 30 meters to the router over wireless, Internode ADSL2+ with AnnexA modem



Over Lan connection going through 2 switches, into TPG ADSL2+ with AnnexM modem. Melbourne mirror was the fastest, Canberra maxxed at 7.

it was faster for me to download from italy then it was perth.... thats australia for ya
and faster in sydney then brisbane

could also be the traffic

I could guess your speeds more accurately than these things :/ Speed tests (esspecially HTML based ones) are rarely accurate.

These things are so inaccurate.

Best test is to download a large file off of your ISP's FTP server and take note of the average kb/s transfer there.

And for those saying that your ISP is ripping you off because your not getting your 1500/512/256/whatever speed that advertised speed is the theoretcial maximum bandwidth. There is a lot of overhead in internet traffic and no matter what you will never see the full speed quoted.
