Default Sorry Sarge I buggered the new Ute!

This happened at about 11pm on Saturday night. Just as you come into Camden NSW and turn into the main drag.
I was with the Girlfriend having a look at the BF utes at the Ford dealer on the corner when I heard 3 cop cars come flying up the road and through town. Lights and sirens blazing. The first 2 sedans went past then the 3rd car, a brand new BF XL Ute with a dog cage on the back kinda failed to navigate the round about. It is a 60 zone and I’d say they were all going at about 80-90km/h. This is a **** easy roundabout, you can pretty much straight line it but the next roundabout about 60m further up is a little harder.
There was a little screech and then 2 big bangs. I said to my gf “**** that was the cop car” I jumped down the little fence and ran out to see if the driver was ok. He was still sitting in his seat and hadn’t moved in the 30-45secs it took me to stop staring and go over. I opened his door and checked to see if he was ok. He was and he said he was going to a help a bunch of coppers who were getting beaten up in Thirlmere and now he couldn’t get there (why he was going to Thirlmere from Cambletown via Camden I don’t know, I think he meant he was going to Camden because the Local show was on that night) . I asked what happened and he said my ABS just failed (there was no ABS light on the dash, he hadn’t really braked until he was on the roundabout and hadn’t tried to steer aground it anyway!) either way he smashed up a nice new Ford. It all got a bit funny when the Riot squad turned up on their way back to the station and a bunch of local coppers. The only thing that ****ed me off was he didn’t check on the poor dog in the back. Not in the 25-30mins I was there whilst I was there.

I did say “are you sure you’re ok”
He said “yes I’m fine”
I said “yea just bloody embarrassed I bet”

I did have to ask him to turn it off; he sat there for like 5mins in the cab with the engine still running. Assuming it’s just the 6 motor I can’t see how the sump was in one piece but I could definitely smell something getting cooked!

I can't see the reason why he can't continue driving it. Doesn't look to be any physical damage.

Look at the photos of the drivers side and tell me what the tyre looks like!!!

The rear was also like that and he was bogged in the garden bed!

Which way was he coming from, from the pic it looks like he was headed into camden and has run right over the top judging from the mess sitting under the car on the cement.

I drive through that round about a few times each week.
We had pretty constant rain that night.
Completly at a loss at how it ended up in the middle of it though, hehehhe
Ah well we are all human, the dog must have got a fright! Poor thing

Ah yea ok, from your discritption it sounded like he was heading from the other way. Must have been moving to lock it up and run straight over the top.

Why do we have to have the police baiters turn up every time there is an image of a crashed police vehicle?

This forum is not and will never be an outlet for anybodies desire to constantly abuse the police service.

If it's like the au's, ABS is an optional item on the utes.. I know as I got it on mine.

Yea its an added option. Police normally get it due to the fact that they can speed ... to catch us but yea poor bugger i've done similar in my old AU xls. Coming down a hill to 130 degree cornor in the wet and lost the front bar, passanger head light and drivers steely rim. She just locked up and went over the gutter ... nothing i could do as far as i can still see. Same corner in my XH and nearly did the same but i took it wider this time. I hate accidents like that. No good story and you can't say you were doing anything wrong ... apart from lack of knowledge of the vechile in those conditions and the fact it shows that you were a terrible driver at the time of the incident

its human nature to ridicule authority figures when they come unstuck breaking the rules they normally enforce.....
