not the question i was asking...... what is a resonable amount to spend for 10rwkw. is it $500 making it $50/Kw or if I spend $5000.00 should I get 100 rwKw gain. Of course it's all dependant on the mods you make, but what i was asking what is a ressonable amount to spend to get an average and a reasonable amount to achieve in gains.

I spent around $4200 on my 3V XT to go from 174rwkw to 220rwkw which is a gain of 46rwkw.
Here's the math.... $4200/46rwkw=$91 per rwkw I think the big money goes into the exhaust upgrades and the flash tuner ($1000). Unless you get a supercharger/turbo upgrade, then you'll get more for your money....say you get 80rwkw from a CAPA Supercharger on a BOSS260, that's equates to about $50/rwkw which ain't bad at all. And the worst mod would have to be the Helix Plate @ $240 for just 2rwkw!!

i dont know about new cars but old ones are around 20%loss through drive train.thats just a rough estimate.it all comes down to what drive train your running.the autos suck heaps more power than manuals.thats why at dyno comps people will swap there auto for a manual then back to the auto for strip action.

F/I will be cheaper KW/$ than N/A....
But if not tuned properly or kept cool (over heat) N/A with less numbers will spank ya... I had a turbo on my civic on the track i pulled slightly quiker times but on streets N/A dominates.... lag and heat were big killers in my setup... Most of the time a N/A with bolt on takes a bit of effort and $$ to get it right... Comes down to your budget realy... The reliability of N/A vs Bolted on F/I

An example would be the light-weight Elfin Streamliner/MS8, which have a 0-100km/h time of around 3.5 seconds, despite having the same detuned LS1 as the Commodore. |
