Hi all,
I need to get a blower vac, mostly wanting it for the Vac function, now I have had a bit of look around and I have noticed a lot of the electric ones have quite high DBA noise levels, I was thinking electric would be a lot more quiet then petrol but maybe I am wrong, although electric wont make smelly 2 stroke fumes. So who has one, and what would people recommend, I can easily use electric as it is for just around the house and a 25m extension cable will easily reach.

We had a GMC electric one and lets just say it didn't last long. The last time we used it, it caught on fire in fact.

if its for around the house buy a dyson... i can get you direct prices next year though
ive used an electric one and actually it isnt that loud though it was used in a workshop so nothing compares to the drop saws.... i wouldnt even think of using a blower/vac inside the house......i like your thinking though

I hope more people respond to this thread with their experiences, as I'm keen to know as well. I've typically subscribed to the theory that if it doesn't have an internal combustion engine, then its no good, but some of the electric motors these days in similar outdoor appliances are quite good now.
Maybe a good quality electric is the way to go. The petrol ones would be quite messy, but then again, I love my petrol Ryobi line trimmer..........nothing quite like pulling 8,000rpm early on a Sunday morning to annoy the **** out of everyone! |

if you want mobility you cant go past a 2 stroke stihl blower
but if its just around the house and you dont mind a power cord being dragged everywhere then an electrical one is fine. |
