Default BMC panel filter installed

Okay I know this will have been done to death, but I had to post. I went out at lunch time and bought a BMC panel filter for my Mk2 Zetec Focus and installed it. Initial impressions, well damn happy for two reasons.
1. The noise, there is definitely a new induction suck (I wouldn't go as far to say roar) but it is noticeable now.
2. From about 3000rpm the car feels stronger, smoother and with the new noise : well you get the drift.

I was sceptical at first, but thought "what the hell" and did it anyway. Would recommend to others. My car has 8000k's on the clock and the original filter was a bit grubby but not significantly so to restrict performance. All up a happy camper!

Steve

Well done Steve. I've always been a big fan of BMC over the more common K&N

It certainly wasn't cheap, at a "whisker" under $200 Kiwi dollars compared to the $130 for a K&N. But I agree, I have used BMC filters in other cars and always found them to be of better quality.

Where abouts can you purchase the 'BMC' filter from?

As much as I dislike them, I think Autobarn stock them (well at least will order them in)

Not sure about the Aussie trim codes, the Zetec over here in NZ has the sports suspension.
The model number of the filter is 318/01.

Cheers
