If you go for this you might as well buy the 20hp mod as well. I wouldnt try somthing like that on my car unless it has been tested by someone over a few thousand kays

The shift kit website is here http://www.shiftkits.com.au/ShiftKitsFord.aspx

These are about as close as your gonna get to a shift kit without modifying the valve bodies.

The shift kits from here make the shifts firmer but be aware that its not something you leave on all the time as the firm shifts wont give a smooth ride. Use it for a quick splat or whatever. Your choice.

The eBay one's are probably the old resistor mod like this (for the EF).
20 Ohm and 1 Ohm for (EB-ED)

EL has the same resistors as the EF but different pin to the ECU (57,38)

My current auto chirps into second but that's because the S5 solenoid is stuffed.

I think Ghia5L has fitted a shift kit so he should be able to give you some advice on the matter.

Electronic shift kits probably aren't good for the auto's health, but I've got a mild one anyway. It's hobo-style, with no on/off or variable toggle. Before the stally it firmed up/quickened up the shifts as well as chirping 1st-2nd and making the backside wobble for 2nd-3rd, but since I've had the stally fitted it's removed the roughness but retained the quickness, if that makes sense.

My box is 350,000kms old and its only sign of wear that it had was a harsh 1-2 shift just after the car was started and driven (cold), but that was before the stally was fitted.

$10 should cover the parts you need. www.mechanicalforums.com has schematics. I've probably posted this a dozen times though, search helps ;)

Who wants to buy an EF two stage shiftkit from shiftkits.com comes with the installation instructions. The reason for selling is I didn’t know the resistors are different to an EB. I would like to swap the EF one for an EB if any one out there has one lying around.

I done the simple resistor mod about 2 years ago to my trans (ED I6)... The car & auto had done about 200,000klm at that stage and has done about 40k more now and no dramas. Doesnt chirp but in a straight line. Sometimes under medium accel around a long corner? In the wet it will spin into second and 'wobble' a bit into third tho.

From memory there were a few different resistor options (mild, harsh) and i went the soft option.
