Hi guys, new to the whole "ford" thing, currently driving a VX commodore which is for sale, ( YAY ) I will be hopefully purhcasing a EL Fairlane 5 L with cream interior :sm_drool: looking at the car tomorrow, so just saying "hi" and so forth, and I must say I can't wait to get behind the wheel of a good car again..... Look forward to browsing and meeting some new folk... Kim

Not just a Fairlane, a V8 one :

Was the VX a company car or something? It sounds like you didn't have it by choice. :

Nah was by choice :nutsycuck Seemed like the right thing to do at the time, but yeah I've had enough of the crap involved with owning a holden, plus the holden offers to comfort with the 100k's I travel a day for work, as an apprentice for Holden, I know, I know.....Another reason why I'm getting rid of it, seen what goes wrong with them lol.. but yeah The fairlane looks like it might be a winner

Um its already got a pod filter, hoping its secured and in a box, its lowered, witha custom exhaust, hoping difillipo, and all the interior is cream, so no... I will get a dvd deck for it, and just put my sub and amp and so forth out of my commodore into it.. Truth be told I have a bad record with the commo so i want a clean slate and keep the car reletively stock, but it looks bloody nice so I'm not really fussed

Just got home from looking at the car, 156 on the clock, interior is used but not trashed....Front lights are hell stuffed, all the ef/el's seem to have the same problem, for some reason it is missing the fog lights.... The pod filter is just at the end of the intake pipe.... dangling around, so i gotta fix that, the exhaust has no mufflers, it goes like this ( extractors, cat, straight trhough pipe to the rear) So i will need to get a muffler bunged in... It's pretty low and scrapes a bit, so will get the gaurds rolled.... The rear "ghia" badge on the boot lid is missing so i will have to get that done, it needs new shockies all round... Apart from that for a 1997 Fairlane it is nice....The paint needs a good buffing, but it is not in any way faded or splotchy... Over all I was impressed, Just got to talk down the price a bit I think considering i Have to spend some cash on it :( But yes, I was very happy with it, so fingers crossed

Keep looking ... I am sure you could find one a little better though.
Don't rush it ... you might find something better not long after getting this one and kick your self for it.

See if you can find a nice FBT out there .... i am sure there was one for sale on this forum ... Ferntree Gully Auto Salvage had a couple of decent luxos for sale not too long ago .... might still be one for sale.

There was an immaculate FBT for same on Fordmods from memory as well.
