Default Eddie Maguire has a Cry

One of the guys here at work heard a snippet about this on the radio this morning, so being more computer literate than him. I found it for him.

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au...5E7582,00.html

I think Id expect a little more decorum from a so-called CEO of a major television network.
I am searching to find the actual 30 minute interview from Melbournes 3AW. If someoen beats me to it can you post up a link. Apparently the language is colourful.

Ed is just defending his business.

He lets people have a joke at his or his company expense but when someone make critical comments in print he takes them to task on it. That is what being a leader of an organisation is about...not taking a backward step and correcting misinformation being trasmitted by others.

I actually think Ross Warneke is a bit of a tool

I like Ed McGuire

Yeah, but there are better ways to defend your business. Have constructive discussion or a press release. Slanging matches do nothing for someones credibility.
Apparently the two blokes have the odd "jovial argument" but this time it was all out. I have to admit I still haven't heard it so I don't know how bad it was.

I heard the entire thing on 3AW & it sounded to me like the 3 of them (McGuire, Warneke, and Mitchell) are all great mates! Though Eddie DID defend Ch9 (and why wouldn't he?) and DID give Warneke a bit of lip, to which Ross also gave plenty back!
Lots of tongue in cheek banter which ended on a good note!
You really cannot help but like McGuire and his readiness to be open & transparent in his new role?... A lot more so than previous CEO's of 9

Yeah, but trust Eddie to say the sound issues with the closing ceremony were someone elses fault. And Eddie really should have been anchoring both the opening and closing ceremonies.

Doesn't matter, still had 3m tune in, cant be unhappy with that.

Televising the games was TWI's responsibility (the host broadcaster), not Channel 9. I didn't watch the closing ceremony personally (only saw a bit on the big screen at the pub), but if there was sound issues on the ground, that would of been TWI's fault. Ross Warneke should get his facts straight before blaming the wrong people. Good on Eddie for standing up for his troops.

j/k...................

Matty.

PS. for all the Eddie bashers out there!!!!!!!

A man on his way home from work, comes to a dead halt in traffic and thinks to himself, "This traffic seems worse than usual. Nothing is even moving."

He notices a police officer walking back and forth between the lines of cars, so he rolls down his window and asks, "Constable, what's the hold up?"

The constable replies, "It's Eddie McGuire. He's just so depressed about his personal life - the thought of moving with Carla & the kids to Sydney and the state of disruption amongst his beloved Magpies, Channel9 losing the football coverage, having to give up The Footy Show, Who wants to be a Millionaire, and his Triple M radio show, that he's stopped his motorcade in the middle of the freeway and he's threateningto douse himself in petrol and set himself on fire.

He says his family hates him and he doesn't have the money to pay forthe new house renovations at Point Piper and to bring his current house in Toorak up to scratch to put it on the market. So we're taking up a collection for him."

"Oh really? How much have you got so far?"

"About three hundred litres, but a lot of people are still siphoning

Agreed, and in this day and age of political correctness and affirmative action they will make a reality tv show spin off of leave it to beaver and make it about a homosexual boy growing up in suburbia called "Leave it, it's Beaver"
