Post Damn Muffler Bent!

Hey,

I have a slightly bent muffler and there is also a hole in it about the size of a 5-10 cent piece! I seem not to be getting as much kms out of the tank or either lpg or petrol anymore! More so on lpg cause i dirve on lpg!

Cheers

yes. Its causing turbulence in the muffler as the flow has been disrupted. Think of it as the potato up the tailpipe issue.. just not anywhere near as bad. What it does is reduce the efficiency of your exhaust therefore increasing consumption of fuel for the same efficiency. $250 for a cat back is the way to go.. sounds better to (and might actually drop 0.1 off your 0-100 time)

no, despite popular belief, "power mods" also are often the best economy mods.
Think of it this way. (this is an example and is not technically totally correct)
You engine makes 100rwkw at peak. You add a cat back and you make 105rwkw. Without changing anything inside the engine you have increased engine efficiency 5%.
Therefor it takes 5% less effort for the engine to produce the same amount of power. 5% less effort means 5% less fuel. So by increasing performance on the same amount of fuel.. you have decreased fuel usage for an equal amount of performance.

Make sense?

with the cat back exhaust you'll gain that 150km's per tank back and then some more than likely..
well it depends, will work out even cause you'll be driving it harder to hear the exhaust ;) haha

just ask G&D for the one that will give the most performance. Stuff it, if you are paying money, get it done by those who know what works and not in it just to slap a muffler on auntie Doris's magna.
Tell them you are from aufalcon.com.. Glenn or Matt will help you out straight away.

Default Mr. Muffler

60 bucks for a tip.......... :

imo i rekon it looks better with just the black 2 1/2" straight pipe, and for 60 bucks i would like it better even if it did look better with a tip.
