Default (vic) personalised plates = cheaper rego?

hey guys,

a few years ago someone told me if ya have personalised number plates your rego goes down $30 - $40 because you own the plates & don't have to pay rent on them, is this true?

i got personalised plates in the last year & just received my rego & its the same price as last year.

cheers.

No you don't get cheaper rego. You only get it if your classified in the country. Which strangely I am.

Which sucks for me as I am on the other side of the border and pay full rego.

It would be good if it was cheaper with personalise plates, as all my cars have them!
