Default Good Use For Old Turbos.

The pics are pretty much self explaining. Good use for old diesel turbos, a noise maker, sausage cooker & heater all rolled into one. And something to play with when drinkin with mates.!!. :
Movies wrong file type to upload, stupid "quick-time" movies. P.m if interested hearing and seeing it in action.

The good old turbo jet, you can actually get a fair bit of power out of them.

If you run them on Propane, you can put the propane bottle in esky full of water and use it for keeping your beer cool while the engine runs..... A gas turbine powered fridge anyone?

Someone (a kiwi, of course) made a jet engine JUST to cool his beers.

There's a site that I found a few years ago where a couple of guys build jets out of old truck turbos. Most are propane powered and one is even wood powered. Yes, wood!

http://www.gas-turbines.com

You can download vidoes of them in action and hear the glorious sound they make.

interesting link 3Toed, will pass it on to the "Mad Professor"

V8capri... will send a movie or 2 on soon, damn dial-up is killing me!!

In short it starts via compressed air blowing into back of turbine to get it spinning, 2 handmade fuel injectors 1 gas 1 power kero, LPG to start then switch to kero when she's hot enough(enables flames :evilsasmo ). electrics consist of a 240-12 volt transformer, buzzing relay, coil and a trusty old harley davidson sparkplug! After its has warmed up a little the air and power can be disconnected and it will run itself...Sat on around 5psi but when giving it heaps on kero expect 30 plus! thats all the gauge went to.
