Default Need for Speed: Most Wanted. Who's got this game yet?

Sorry if repost, I didnt see any threads on this.

Anyway, got this game yesterday on Xbox. Its freaking awesome!!
Its a wild combination of Need for Speed Underground 2 meets Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.
You can totally customise your cars but instead of having the crappy rciers in the game this time you can do up Porsche's, Lamborghini's, BMW's, Mercedes, Aston Martin's, etc.
You gotta try and cause as much trouble for the law as you can and get your wanted status up.
Cops will use barriers, spike strips, even try and ram you off the road!

I recommend getting this game.
Who else has got it yet?

Surely not everybody has a copy yet. :

Yeah I have it on PS2.

I think I'm currently ranked 11th. (Actually just taking a break from playing it now)
It would be better if they took out a lot of the story, and the driving around between races/targets.

It uses the same kind of mapping system that the GTA games use, and I had to stop playing GTA: VC because it was giving me a headache.

At least they got rid of most of the cruddy music that was in the NFS: U games.

Have been playing the PC version today for a whiles (got my copy on Thursday night.)
I havent really got much through it as yet though.(almost up to challenge on blacklist 14)
From what Ive seen so far it's pretty damn good, just waiting to get through the game a little further to be able to get some better cars & more of a challenge rather then the shopping trolley derbies I'm racing atm.
One beef though is the lack of 'events' that made NFS UG2 such a success.
I'm positive that they could of & SHOULD of incorporated these into the mix somehow.
McLaren - where's this other thread on most wanted you are talking about???

just a question when you want to do a custom race, you pick you track then your car... how do you modify/ customise your car? do you have to wait til you unlock all the perfomance bits?

do the v8 sedan cop cars magically keep up with your tricked out exotic car in this version too? It seems that the cops always have some advantage in corners despite driving what in the real world are much slower cars.

Had it for about 3 days now on PC.

In the garage I have 2x Stage 2 Supercharged Mustangs with NOS which sound heavenly (the 5.1 has been getting a real workout), and a Porsche Cayman S.
Ranked 7th so far.
The cops use GTO's (Monaros) which are a real PITA to get away from, I usually floor it and NOS it and drive straight at them and roll em to get rid of them.

yeah, once u get to heat x 4, things start to get interesting.
spike strips, SUV cop cars, chopper (which makes it impossible to see)
not to mention taking out traffic?

i only bought it yesterday for the xbox, and started playing today. The gears annoy the hell out of me, but im getting used to it.

Starting to have a bit of fun with it...

I dont understand why you can get customizable soundtracks with it, surely it wouldnt be hard to incorporate.

Ah yes but you dont have to rice youe car so its ok..I usually just go for a nice paint job + rims.

I played it today while watching the V8's, I love my little Golf GTi, I might take a pic tomorrow. I won some blokes supra and de-riced it.

I was very unimpressed at the beginning, but now I am getting into it.

I take it everyone got the black edition?

Also, one thing that really really annoyed me was trying to change the view!!! I HATE the view behind the car, bumper cam all the way for me, but WTF is with going into the options to do it!!

Thats one thing that annoys me - the views. A more detailed incar view with the dash and cluster etc would be nice.

Yeah I remember the first NFS had that!

But, its bugger to drive in, and there is no way that you can drive as quick with the co(k-pit (lol, silly rules, I cant say co(k-pit) view than that of bumper cam or rear view

Mainly because you have a boxed in view - inside a boxed view - your monitor. Last time I looked, my windscreen was alot wider than 19 inches diagonal

Just saving up to put a blower on my Mustang and adding my little unique mod to it.

The blower is awesome. Worth it for the sound alone, which you'll soon find out.
