The things people will do they think will save time...
You should ring the taxi company, ask for Taxi no. 965 and say you want to be picked up on the 6th floor of the Grand Hyatt...lol |

Notice how he's got the blind guy glasses on? His dog's just out of the shot - it was hiding out of embarassment.

if his owner is a shrewd operator the Body Corporate will be getting a bill in the mail for repairs and towing. Been there done that, got a cheque for $1200 because the stairs were not blocked or signed.. As stupid as it may seem in this day and age of warning labels and idiot proof precautions its the liablity of the body corporate not the taxi driver.. And yes I do know him ANd its not one of my cars hehe!

ROFL! This is one of those things where you definately needed a camera handy, well done Simmo. What I'd like to know is why he had the car at the top of the stairs in the first place, and how. LOL. One thing for sure, if I was the owner of that cab, I would not let him near any of my cars again! Imagine the driver ringing up his boss....Hmmmm.

As much as I don't like this, your quite right. Mitigating factors at law would have that amount reduced, the driver must take some responsibility in seeing where he is going. Collapsable yellow vertical poles at the top of the stairs would send a visual signal to driver's that this is not an exit ramp. NB - A potential legal issue as to the driver's privacy, if a court finds "contributory negligence" in building area design, the individual can take additional action against ridicule and damage to reputation which might affect the persons employment and income.

Racecraft and keepleft's comments just explain why this world is just so F**KED UP right now.
No one takes responsability for their own actions regardless how STUPID you are.

Yep in years to come our entire urban environment with be dayglo orange with reflectors and yellow tape, flashing strobe lights in every surface.. And do you think it will do a thing to reduce the number of acts of clear & present stupidity! If you copped a claim like that and you had a clue, you'd counter claim the life out of them! |

Haha, we had a similar incident out this way, with a taxi driver in a carpark, went over a curb, down a 40 cm drop onto the petrol station grounds. He got stuck there for a min or so but got off it by planting the go pedal and eventually making it slide off the ramp. Continued driving like nothing happened
