Default VE Commodore Spypics from November Motor...

Hi guys,

Found this over on the GM Forums which may me of some interest! They are supposedly spy pics of the VE Commodore due for release sometime next year. It clearly shows the VY SS rims and VY/VZ mirrors so its looks legit. Looks a little similar to the new Mitsubishi 380 IMO.

Apparently it could be getting the ZF 6 speed like the BF Falcon.

And also, why does it look like in the top pic that the rear rim is bigger than the front one, and vice versa in that bottom pic?

Looks like a chop to me, but I could be wrong.

Also noted that when the ZF was mentioned, that the only person to comment on Ford says there only using them in a Jaguar.

Very Torana-esque.

I don't believe the ZF 6 spd auto part....not when GM have a 6 speeder of their own already slated for Lxx V8 engines.

shared transmissions would certainly show the engines characteristics & weight better :P
don't beleive they'd put a ZF in one though.

not a fan of that rear end at all... alomst looks like a hatch.

Looks pretty fake to me...

I read on a wheels (or possibly motor) that ZF are supplying parts to replace the dodgy front suspension in the commodes, but that was the only parts they were supplying.

Looks good even with the camo on. The other forum mentions the reason for the quad exhausts are for the 6lt V8 but will be single for the V6. So does this mean the LS2 for the SS or a different 6lt V8?

Is it just me, can I see some Mitsubishi 380 in the rear quarter?

its a pretty good photoshop I think.

If anything the wheel size difference is just to large IMO.

If you look at the front wheel and the rear on the shot... the front is just an enlargement of the rear... the spokes are at the same positions.

Look at the bottom of the second photo, is that a bonnet or roof with the same checkered pattern as the VE?

I wonder if the photos were taken by a Holden PR, modified slightly and then discreetly sent to Motor mag. :

Did you actually measure the size of the wheels? The front wheel (in the bottom photo) is actually smaller than the rear one. Everything is in proportion. Its just an illusion created by the front wheel arch being higher than the rear exposing more tyre.

its no illusion, the wheels are about the same size, but the front wheels are supposed to be smaller, much smaller as they are ment to be further away

something is definately not right about those photos

it looks like VZ features stuck on a Mitsu 380 body

Read part of the article. Motor seem to think HSV have some big power increases on the way. Wonder if Ford will believe them this time?
