They're building a limited run of the VF GTS Maloo.

HSV are also about to release a HSV Colarado.
I thought local car manufacturers were doing it tough? |

I thought there was a certain "gushing" when reading. Of course its Dowling. Anyways good on HSV for doing it. There have been plenty of people asking for a Hypo ute from both sides of the fence for a while. Will be interesting to see if it is a limited edition model though because if 150 get snapped up quick why not make it mainstream.

Yes they did. I just bought one of the last 120 made. Ford are in shut down mode just like Holden will be in another year.

Im just trying to think back to the F6 days and the hoopla that went on with its "speed". Yet GMH never seem to get such attention?

That's pretty cool and addresses the main bit I'm not a fan of with the VF, the rear! Good on Holden for doing it.

Not a fan of the sedan VF rear, especially not the GTS. My mate has a VF SSV Ute and the rear on that is much nicer. I'd still have a GT/GTF over it any day though (and conveniently enough, I have a GT...)

Just gotta say ^^^ semantics; things I don't care about. When was the last time you heard someone from the red camp say they're a HSV fan? Can't say I can recall a time I've heard them say that, more often than not it's that they're a Holden fan...whether they're talking about a HSV or not...so that's a thing.

Soz Goose, I did not mean to offend.
Holden do not have the money for this, and this is the relevance - being on a Ford forum - we should not expect Ford to do this, as they do not have the money either. Walkinshaw does have the money. But you are right all the fanboys will call it the fastest Holden Ute |

As much as I love fords, I have to say rear end wise with the looks I think the Holden trumps the Ford.

Yes, the 'bad' times of the 80s...when Ford were number 1.

For some owners - if the tax man asks, then yes - it is regularly used as a load carrier for their business Reckon that is a good indication of where HSV are headed after local production ceases - but then it is not the first time they have tried expanding their range...HSV Jackaroo |

I don't see the issue here.
If they build it, publicity for HSV means the possibility of more contracts. HSV are evolving into a post Holden Commodore era. Good on them. We all like a performance car....right?

HSV ute needs a salt flat to get the speeds a F6 gets between traffic lights...

Are you serious? An F6 from factory is making 310kw at the engine, this VF Maloo GTS is making 430kw. Even if you are an amazing driver and put a hack in the Maloo and had a drag race you still would get beaten. I'm a Ford man and prefer the look of the FPV's over the HSV's but come on man you've got to be joking if you reckon any ute from FPV's stable would beat this.
