Default driving without a steering wheel!

Gold!

[QUOTE]MISSING a steering wheel on your defected heap of a car? A pair of vice grips may not be the best solution.
An Adelaide man, 38, has been remanded in custody after an alleged string of driving offences, including driving without a steering wheel, driving whilst disqualified and being under the influence of drugs.
Police also allege the man, of Northfield, was involved in a hit-run crash only minutes before he was pulled over.
Holden Hill police stopped a Holden sedan at 8.25am yesterday after allegedly spotting it driving dangerously on two blown tyres on Sudholz Rd, at Gilles Plains.
When they stopped the car, police noticed the pair of vice grips were being used to steer the vehicle.
Police say investigations revealed the car also was involved in a rear-end collision on Folland Ave, Northfield. They also discovered the car was defected and uninsured.
The man allegedly returned a positive drug test to methylamphetamine and cannabis.
He was arrested and charged with driving without due care, failing to stop at the scene of a crash, driving in a manner dangerous, as well as driving while disqualified, unregistered and uninsured.
He also was charged with driving contrary to a defect order and breaching bail conditions.
He has appeared in court and was remanded in custody.

I wonder how the punishment will compare to if he was doing a burnout in an industrial park.

Probably the same as doing 10 over the limit on an empty highway.

Really should have used 2 vicegrips for the correct 10-2 steering position....

Ah c'mon fellas it's perfectly okay - you can see that he's locked his vice grips onto the splined section of the steering shaft for added safety!

A mate of mine years ago had some knob jockey run into him at an intersection. Turns out using a ratchet onto the steering wheel locking nut only works one way at a time. Might be related to this fine individual.

my brother use to jam a screwdriver in the old single rail gearbox as a gear stick, nothing like old bushman mechanics getting you to A to B

Have heard of someone who drove a skyline sitting on beer crate with pair of vice grips on wheel.

It would have livened things up for him if they'd come off at freeway speed...
