A concept was made during the AU days, but it wasn't produced. The Crewman doesn't exist anymore so Ford didn't need it anyway.

I think the fact that crewman does not exist anymore and was never a volume seller is clear indication of the reason. Reaching an acceptable compromise between rear leg room, rear seat position and tray size is difficult to do on existing platforms without prohibitive production costs and subsequent RRP. Crewman did not do this well and was a liability to Holden, therefore it got the axe. If you ask me ford did the right thing not producing one.

The concept full-size model is still in the Ford Museum in Geelong.

There has been a custom one made out of an au wagon, it also has a ba front on it. I can't seem to find it on carsales anymore though.

The R5 was just a fancy product assment...you'll find it has a BA style interior...

Didn't really matter as the Falcon ute was selling in really high numbers back then. It would be a great addition to the Falcon ute lineup if it was available now, but Ranger fills that space anyway now so its a bit of a mute point. |
