Default Skydiving! Who's been?

So Tomorrow I am off for my first 14000ft skydive... After a life of skateboarding, surfing, snowboarding, and fast cars I am a bit of an adreneline junkie... I can't wait to be sitting on the edge of that plane!!

Curious to hear from others... Cuz I am so psyched!!!!

I did it not too long ago. St Kilda, Melbourne. 14,000ft.

One word. Awesome.

I didn't feel nervous or anything. Was surprised actually because I expected to just before it and be like uh oh this is happening. But I was purely excited and happy. Had a smile the whole way down.

Would love to do it again but it is expensive. I am glad I did the one in Melbourne as the view on the plane ride up and coming down were great. I could see the whole city and all the way down the east coast of Port Phillip Bay.

It's an awesome feeling; I've been a few times now and was actually in the process of obtaining my license before I had my car accident a few years ago... I really should look into that again!

First time is quite exciting, and it's amazing what runs though your head as your going up for the first. I myself was worried my shoes would fall off??? Before you know it you're being hurtled out of a plain and floating towards the earth at a great rate of knots.

You'll have a blast!

hahah yes i was worried about my shoe falling off also sitting on the edge

i got the biggest rush from when you sit on the edge of the door about to jump out and the free fall (did the 14000tf also)
but once you pull the shoot it was all hows your mother
dont get me wrong it was a great buzz but the floating back to earth just didnt give me the buzz like the 60 seconds before haha if you know what i mean
at the end of it i got a bigger buzz from bungee jumping off vic falls 111m twice in 20 mins

Just got back, was awesome!

Wasn't nervous at all, I LOVED the sitting on the edge of the plane, and that initial free fall feeling!

Mind you the diver put the parachute into some nice sharp spins which felt pretty cool as well!

Would certainly recommend it!

Will put the video up once it finishes uploading..

Where did you go, Cam? I see a lot of people falling out of the sky over Suttons beach when I'm at my missus's house... why leave a perfectly good plane, is what I always thought, but then it does sound tempting...

Land at Bells Beach at Margate, which I think is just up the road from Suttons?

BTW - Swanny, I am living Northside now, we should catch up! Although the AU is off the road atm (check my build thread..)

Anybody considering it, do it! Definitely on the must do list!

I'd heard of a few people going up to Redcliffe and they all speak highly of the team up there.

I'd be happy just flying them, not jumping out of them haha.

It's an undescribeable feeling. I've done a few now and would definately recommend the experience to anyone else. I was actually a lot more nervous on the second jump for some reason....glad you enjoyed it

First thing they teach you in the Air Force is if the plane is fully functional do NOT leave it . I also cannot understand why someone would WANT to leave a fully functional aircraft .

I did a few jumps years ago, great fun...

You are so high up that it is easy to just slip out and drop...

it's all so far away at 10k feet, can't see much when you jump.

Try Bungie in NZ....that is scarier...

Yep, I've done it and have to admit that personally I found it a bit boring. Not as exciting as driving fast. No ground rush and everything feels slow. The free fall doesn't feel all that fast except when you punch through a cloud. Then when the canopy opens its pretty much just a gentle decent. Although the guys I went with got a buzz from it and some went two and three times on their first day.

I did it before xmas - down in Torquay VIC.

Was very different to what I expected... I was expecting the 'rollercoaster' style rush/stomach drop feeling... and you don't get that (well I didn't)...

I think it is because your mind has nothing to scale the fall on - as in there is nothing else around you for you to measure your speed... Kind of like when you see a plane flying in the sky when you are on the ground... it actually looks like they're not going that fast - because there's nothing around to scale the speed against...

But it was incredible, I'd certainly do it again...

One thing that did take me by surprise was that it was difficult to breathe well on the freefall... which can be a little unsetttling...

But overall was awesome, and my video is quite entertaining.... because even though you're trying to keep your cool, you can end up looking like quite a dick... hahah
