Ok, Time to pick all of ur collective brains again fellas, Just how much is interchangable off an escort onto a capri ?
The capri I am doing has fairly serious cancer in the front drivers pillar near the top door hinge. (i am guessing they go there a fair bit) , sure I can fab one up but laziness beat old age and i have a case of cbf. I can buy a escort pretty cheap, so i was thinkin of cutting the pillar I need out of it. But what else can I use off the escort ?. Forget drivetrain, Its all good to go. I am talking trims , suspension , bumpers etc ??.. Cheers Doc |

i think most of the time people go the other way with suspension (capri V6 struts and gear like that) you will find the capri to be about 35 - 45mm wider than the escort anyway from what i remember

No body parts are interchangeable btwn Escorts and Capris. If you need to replace body sections, I would think it would be much easier to fabricate something new from scratch rather than adapt something from another car thats been out in the elements and/or endured 30+ years of driving on aussie roads.

As whooligan said no body parts are the same although you may be able to cut similar size donor parts from an escort if you had one lying around but I wouldnt buy one with the intention to use other parts on the project, apart from tail lights if its a MK1 escort there wouldnt be much to use.
