G'day. I have recently removed the vinyl from my 78 esky. all i did was run a stanley knife around windscreen rubbers, then removed the air vents behind rear doors on pillars. it all come off fairly easily with a bit of pulling. preferably in the sun on a hot day to help soften the glue. you will find a layer of glue left on the roof, the easiest way i found to remove this was to scrape it with a razor glass scraper then sand to remove excess then rub it all down with thinners. this procedure worked for me at the time but i had the intention for giving the car a respray so you may decide against this method. hope this helps.
