Ok, i wana know what you think i should put into an xy falcon, i know alot of you are single minded and most will say V8, but what would you do, a unique turbo 6 such as a xflow or a 4L OHC, or would you rather a 351 worked.
So far i have not seen a turbo 6 in an xy and think it would be funner than a v8 if both had same ammount of power, looking for around 400 - 500 hp. so what would you rather?

I voted turbo 4L
Probably make more torque than the 351 as well. If the 351 was N/A that is before everyone starts flaming me.

This thread is giving me flashbacks of this:
How about putting a 427 big block crate motor from the US into it? |

351 clevo.
You wont have the head gasket problems and you will make more than enough power. A car like that needs rumble! Not hissing and farting and fluttery noises, Save that for "lesser" cars :ymca: . :

I think the I6 would be unique and a little more reliable if you get a new one. But I'd leave the turbo's to the plastics nothing beats a blown 351 for old school muscle.

"Turbo or V8," doesn't make sense. A Turbocharger isn't an engine, its a device you put on an engine.
The answer is clear... Turbocharged 351 Cleveland.

If you're even considering anything other than a cleveland or windsor in an XY : than you might as well go the whole "ricer" route and include a Rotary in your equation...
oh.. and some Kenwood stickers too... :Reverend:

Go a Big Block
Every ones XY has a 351 and a turbo 6 is a downgrade. |

Do something different. The only reasons to go 8 are authenticity and noise. That being said, as much as I like the turbo six idea, the xy deserves better. Blown 427 FTW.

turbo 6, save the soundtrack for the slower cars, or play it on your stereo if you need to hear that kind of thing....i am now waiting to be hammered! A 6 is different, but the v8 sounds the bizz. I would not be basing my decision on other peoples thoughts - that is why they build their cars. You do your own thing, and that way you will be satisfied with the outcome. You are the one that will be driving it, not anyone else.

I'd say the I6T, but I'd look at the BA T. It would be very uniquie...but probably alot of money.

If your mind was made up to go 6T why did you bother asking for opinions of doing a poll?

my mind isnt made up yet, i just wanted to see how many people i would annoy if i did decide to go turbo. I wanted to get ideas of which would be cheaper, more reliable, better economy, more powerful ect. Obviously arguing with ignorant 40 year olds is going to give me more inspiration.
