ive got some kinda flu virus thing now. it started to hit me last monday with only a sore throat and a thumping headache every morning as well as being very tired and exhausted. and i just started feeling worse today! huge headache nothing will get rid of, cant stop coughing. even though it wasnt hot this morning i felt like it was boiling. vision is stuffed lol its all blurry, nose keeps getting blocked up and needing to almost sneeze every 5 mins and ive only eaten twice today and everytime i eat i just feel like im gonna actually be sick. i cant take time off work as i dont get sick pay which means im not gonna get better in a hurry.
One guy i work with has had this flu thing for almost a month and is only just getting over it so i hope i dont have this thing.what do others recon? And also i thought this influenza flu would've passed through by now??

I had a similar thing a month or 2 ago, sore throat, headaches, eye infection...went on antibiotics (penicillin) for a week, I was back to normal. I've been told several times I have a very good immune system.

Went to the doctors yesterday and turns out I had a virus. Had the whole aching joints, aching body, fevers, shivers and headaches that lasted a whole day. Woke up this morning and it's getting a bit better.

I've got the flu now.
It started on Thursday, and got worse on Friday. Over the weekend and today I haven't felt too bad, but it's still lingering. The worst symptons for me are a runny nose, flem filled throat, and watery eyes. |

Gastro seems to be doing the rounds too, me and the missus had it a few weeks ago and it's twice as bad as I've ever had it before, didnt know I had it till I got up then realised I needed a spew. Joints felt that bad it was as though I had been belted senseless with a cricket bat, a young bloke that works for me rang the other day to say he had been hospitalised with it last weekend due to dehydration

One of my kids had something "Very" similar a few weeks ago , got quarantined to her room after she'd been to the Dr's , it's not good .
I think there was a "Warning" about 2 months ago , they said it started in NZ . Anyone who think they've got it , go to the Dr's NOW . A couple of weeks off work is better off than being Dead , also think of your "workmates".

I have had the last 2 days off work, and im feeling a lot better today, still got a scratchy throat and i sound nasaly. Ive felt a lot better since i snorted out a fleshy bloody lump out from my nose/throat cavity (gross I know, if your not ill you probably are now huh?) anyway Im off to the doctors today for a medical certificate.

If you think you have the flu, specifically Influenza Type A, you need to go to the doc and have swap. They need to be able to identify it through tests to make sure you do or dont have it. It is very contagious too, so its best to stay home away from people. It has proven to be lethal to small kids too - a 2 year old died from it here a few weeks ago.
The only reason it spreads so much, in most cases, is because people do not stay home. Means that they are a) spreading it around to everyone else at work, or whatever and b) they are sicker longer as they are not giving their bodies a chance to recover, so they have long to spread it around. If everyone who has it now, passes it on to 10 people and each of them pass it on to another 10 - imagine how fast it spreads. Also, some colds can be pretty nasty. People dont think of colds as being bad, but often many people think they have the flu, when it is actually a cold. Colds last around 7 days, or sometimes longer and you can feel terrible. It is still a virus. The flu is a stronger version basically and incorporates symptoms like nausea and it lasts for 2 weeks or longer. It very much depends on the person as to how sick you will get, such as age, general health, diet, medical conditions such as pregnancy, asthma, diabetes, respiratory illnesses and your natural immunity. As for gastro, that is also going around but thankfully that doesnt last as long as colds or flu - it it does, its more serious than just an inflamed tummy. I guess the key points to remember with lots of bugs around the place are: - sleep and lots of it - keep warm, let your body use its energy for recovery rather than keeping you warm if you are out in the cold - drink lots of water (Powerade or similar is really good if you have gastro) - Panadol for aches, pains and fever (can make you feel quite a lot better) - Eat sensibly if you can - a lot of the lethargy, headaches etc can be from lack of energy, dehydration, low blood sugar etc, rather than the bug itself - stay away from other people - wash hands well, general hygeine can help stop the spread of germs - dont prepare food for your family/household etc for a little while - use tissues and throw them out, do not use hankies/cloth and wash them - that guarantees the germs spreading

She is a NAG hahahaha.
Im going to kill this guy at work. In the past month he has had some sort of cold or flu 3 times! he'd get better and then he's got it again. We were all like "GO HOME!! AND DONT COME BACK TILL YOUR BETTER" But NOOO he'd stay at work and complain. then he had the nerve to tell me on Monday that the doctor reckons the only way he'll get better is if he stays at home in bed for a week. (This is when I probably got it when he was telling me) and he still goes to work! im so going to let him have it.
