Default new K&N filter

today i bought a K&N filter ($149 @ autobarn or $224.25 @ supercheap i bought the autobarn one)

anyways installed it and all i can say is WOW.....what a whole lot of absolute bull**** hype this thing has created....i mean i felt a difference in tickford snorkle and BA airbox but add the filter and well it wasnt worth the money....though it does feel smooth (but so did the snorkle and box and together they werent $149)

im being serious too i wasnt too impressed with it for the money.

and i dont no but after reading some peoples experiences with k+n filters how they couldnt fit it in...mine just sat straight but putting the clips on was alot tighter but it just sat in place.

just gotta wait for the fuel economy figures now and pray i save money buying this thing.

then there's the fairly woeful dirt retension results they have had with independant testing... After reading 5 or 6 test results, I'd never buy one.

I didnt notice much with my K & N either. Sure it seemed to improve throttle response a little, but the $50 snorkel and airbox mod did far more than the $150 filter i got did. However fuel economy did go up slightly..... maybe...

how can you notice the difference from an air filter, the difference would be only minute.

gee $149, I noticed a big difference in throttle responce and thats why i got it, u can really use the clutch when your getting of the line. But give it a couple of weeks for the CPU to "realise" its lungs just got bigger. And you gotta love that little puff noise you get when u jab the throttle lol.

Give it 500km's for ECU to fully note it has a less restritive filter. Also the main bonus is you dont ever need to buy an air filter again. I noticed a better throttle respone with mine instantly. I did the k&n & both F6 CAI at the same time.

I noticed a change straight away when I changed the pod in the GT for a BMC one and it got even better a week later, I get so much air coming threw the thing that it gets cleaned every week, then again I have got ram air induction on the GT!

Yeah the recharge kit that you can buy im thinking about a filter for my TE but im thinking BMC i cant believe supercrap wanted $225 for a K&N what a rip but yeah wait a little till the ECU learns that there is a filter in there and it might make a slight difference i had one in my XR 6 got better the longer it was in there (to a point) and make 1 hell of a noise lol

Do you really think 2-3 kw will be noticeable when you have over 150. Where talking 1-2%. The only way to tell if you gained any power is with a dyno.
