I'm 23 and nobody will employ me..."sorry mate, we're looking for people closer to 15 or 16. Good luck".

At 14 just remain patient and somebody will open their door to you.

Good luck!

I think Fast food is your best bet, or maybe a factory hand just sweeping and stuff? Although there maybe a higher age limit than with the fast food?

Unfortunately Buddy at your age, Its gonna be Maccas, Subway, Safeway, Coles or something along those lines. When youre around 16, You'll probably be accepted to to wating work at a pub hotel which is good. Its what I've been doing since year 12 while im at uni and it pays the bills well..

But do yourself a favour and check out some Retail shops like clothes or Sanity Stores. They'd be cool and would probably be fine with your age. See how you go.

Fast food is horrible.. the pay is terrible and its a dirty job. If i were you i would be going to apply at woolworths or coles. I work for woolworths and they're a great company to work for.

Maccas/any fast food joint, and super market, or a place like target/big W is a great place to start.

im 19 in a couple of weeks and still work at Maccas : but i got 2 other jobs and at uni full time, so youll get work some where!

I suggest retail ... it's also a stepping stone into retail management if you are good enough .. and they pay for all of the training as well.

Even try Bunnings/Mitre 10 or the likes as well as Supermarkets/department stores too.

Gotta start somewhere.

I started at a newsagents when I was 15 ... went onto Woolies ... then Pizza Hut delivery (also while at Pizza Hut I was Fruit 'n' Veg managers at Coles and also worked fruit and Veg at Franklins Big Fresh as well) .... I was working long hours .... and literally everyday of the week/weekend ... all while trying to find a full-time job (it took well over 12 months to get into the IT Industry after finishing TAFE).

My son is 14 & scored an after school job at the local Autopro store 6 months ago 2 days a week cleaning shelves & sweeping floors (learnt where the stock is in the shop doing that), still does that , but is getting into serving customers & delivering parts on his pushbike to the closer workshops (saves running the work ute) & has just scored another job at one of the workshops he delivers to , 2 days a week & school holidays , cleaning/sweeping at the moment but learning all about cars . Dream jobs for someone who would like to get into the trade later.

12 months ago he wanted to leave school ASAP , now he wants to go to Yr 12. , He can start Tech course in Yr 11 & 12 while at school , a really good start for him.
