Badges on fairmont AU

Hi, I'm thinkin of taking off a few of the badges on my fairmont ghia like the 'ghia' and '75' ones...are these easy to take off without doing damage? and are they just stuck on there with some sort of glue, or are there holes for them with little rivet things? This probably seems stupid but your help is much appreciated!

Easy to do just peel them off carefully.

A delicate slit with a razor to start them peeling or prising the badge with a small screwdriver can help sometimes.

The "fairmont" badge will leave two holes!

Correct just might leave bit of rubber behind.

Metho will make it soft and you can rub it off by hand and then polish.

a bit of heat,,,hair dryer, will soften all the glue and stuff!

hi, if you are interested in selling the ghia badges its just we upgraded the fairmont to ghia interior and how much would you want for them?

I've also heard you can start peeling off the badges by sliding a length of fishing line behind them.

They're not really reusable after they are peeled off - new ones aren't all that expensive.

I took mine off with a hairdryer and dental floss. Worked a treat, just take it slow...

just on this, how do you get the sticker type logos off? i have the Classic sticker on the boot lid and am looking at going the de-badge look. do the come off with metho as well, or must they be peeled off?

if its a 75th anniversary ghia then it'd be a series 2 sedan, therefore the fairmont badge would be on the boot garnish. No badge you remove on an AUII/III sedan will leave holes except the blue ovals. Don't use a razor, use fishingline then wax and grease remover (prepsol) to remove the glue. I've removed all the badges off my AU and a couple off dads XR6T using this method.

Pick them off carefully with your fingernails. Don't use a razor because 1 slip and your paintjob is ruined. You could use some prepsol or eucalyptus oil to help remove it easier. I just picked my intech ohc decals off using my nails and they didn't stuff the paint.
