Default Sheds...

Hi All,

My old man just told me he's pushed my original GT out of the shed and put it in the side paddock. argh!!!! Says he needs the space. I'm trying to get a shed sorted. I've just pinged an email off to ranbuild for some prices.

I've got two cars to store, maybe three soon. I'm thinking a 3 open bay shed, a twin car garage, or a couple of carports with full canvas sides. Has anyone bought a new shed lately? If so can you post some prices and where you got it.

Much appreciated...

Go for a 4bay with c/port or american barn..which will have mezzanine and space for 4 cars.

Cost about 30k.

Thanks John. But I think I'll wait till I buy my own country house before I spend that kind of dough. It will only be in storage at my parents property for 2 years. I'm after something quick, easy, and reasonably cheap...

I got a 9m x 10m with 3 doors in the gable end built a couple of years ago for about $15K. Nearly half that price was the slab though. If you get a slab put in make sure they chamfer the edge where the doors will be as otherwise water gets driven under the doors

Quick, easy, cheap - do you want something permanent or temporary? you could thow up a two bay tractor shed easy enough, DIY, dirt floor, no council approval. Will keep the cars out of the weather. Without council approval just be aware if someone complains it will have to come down.

Im getting one done on the farm atm, 26m by 7.5, 2 garage doors, one side door,3 windows. Divided into 3 sections, double garage,9 by 7.5 which will be weekend/guest quarters and an open bay on the end,21deg roof pitch. cost for supply and delivery is $11,000. Im putting it up myself in the next few months, the slab is already down, not too bad a price, some places want heaps more, but I reckon Ill find cheaper still.

pay someone... otherwise you have no legs to stand on when it comes crashing down... also it's not as easy as people think to construct.

This is because some places use real flimsy steel sizes they think will do the job in the wind areas required, simply to make a quick buck.

The shed you have for the price you got it at is far too cheap for my liking.

Heed this advice too. Even with kitbooks I've found that customers still have no idea what they're doing.

We're on the same wavelength. A tractor shed with dirt floor is what I'm thinking. Thanks for the link, I've sent of a request for a quote.

I forget the wind category its rated to but its the same as all the others,Ive been in the construction industry for 22 years so if I dont know what I'm doing by now I guess I deserve it to fall down,by the way I just got a quote for all the bricks I need to do it in Brick, just got to get some prices for hyspan for the roof and snd see how it comes out pricewise, but just now It's looking like brick is the go,better insulation as a bonus.I'm also thinking of felling some hardwood and getting my neighbour to mill it. really though it's not rocket science, Iv'e built/renovated 3 houses on my own, but so true some people are lost working with there hands.

Down here in melbourne there is a place that sells containers for $1200. not super cheap, but the could always be re-sold when they arent needed, or converted into garden sheds..

I don't think I could get a container into this spot without tearing down fences. My parents wouldn't appreciate that too much. Good idea but...

thats what crane trucks are for...... lift it into position..
might cost you another grand on top of the price...........(just guessing)

certainly beats paying 9k+ for a temporary shed! that alone would make it worth at least investigating

i would look at what your car is sitting on at the same time as under... moisture from dirt/mud etc will do just as much damage rising from below if its just a covered area.

Either some gravel or a quick concrete slab down the track will do the trick for now. Its bone dry out my parents way and has been for eight years. I just don't like the idea of sticks dropping on it or grass growing up through the engine bay...

I wasn't having a go at you, it's just the majority of customers we get that order sheds in kitform have lots of trouble with putting bits and pieces together.

Any person with half an idea on how to build a shed would have absolutely no problem building one of our sheds.

I agree, it takes someone who builds them all the time 2 days, if you've not had experience it could take a couple of weeks.

Exactly.

The new sheds we're designing and manufactering from our factory should take a day at most to build.

if you get a container, make sure it's somewhere it can't be seen or accessed .
if a truck gets it in there, someone elses will take it when you ain't looking.
