I knew that you'd not only know the colour, but also have pictures of them all so people could see the difference.

Colour is my thing!

Neo was a stunner in my opinion, more subtle than Blueprint and Bionic, more depth and richness than Velocity. Actually, Velocity wasn't all that popular and was dropped quite quickly. Neo? You certainly don't see many of them on the road, Bionic and Shockwave were far more popular.

Ford made some excellent Blue's during the B-Series era!

Starting with BA, there were two carryover blues and one new one.

Blueprint and Narooma were most likely BA colours from the beginning, brought forward to give the AU III a boost during run-out. Blueprint was of course immensely popular, Narooma less so. Blue Pearl was the only new blue for the BA's launch.

Narooma - April-01 to Aug-03, metalic, paint code NR.

Blueprint - March-02 to July-04, metallic, paint code UU.

Blue Pearl - September-02 to Mid-06, metallic, paint code CP.

As the BA model continued, there were colours added and deleted. Offshore was introduced for the BA Fairlane and also formed part of the Territory launch. Not a favorite of mine, too wishy-washy. Velocity also debuted on late BA MK I and carried into BA MK II for the launch colour. The same with Shockwave, which appeared quite early and is generally considered a BA II colour.

Offshore - August-03 to May-05, metallic, paint code GB.

Velocity - October-04 to August-05, metallic, paint code DN.

Shockwave - At least September-03 to December-06, metallic, paint code W5.

For BA MK II, only Icon and Bionic appeared later as "new" colours for the model as the above were technically carry-over from BA. I actually loved Icon, very classy, not in-your-face. Bionic is also credited as a BF colour, but appeared late in the BA II run, I've personally seen a couple of FPV's in the colour.

Icon - March-04 to Feburary-07, metallic, paint code IB.

Bioinic - October-05 to Dec-07, non-metallic, paint code FF.

For BF, only one new Blue arrived towards the end of the run up to BF MK II, Neo. Ford really didn't push this colour, so it's hard to find colour examples of it in the press shots.

Neo - July-06 to March-08, metallic, paint code NE.

Ford introduced a four new blues for BF MK II, two mid series and two very late in the run up to FG. Conquer was a replacement for Shockwave that really didn't take off, a shame because it was a beautiful shade. Steel effectively replaced Blue Pearl, again not many press shots of this colour, which I found it quite "muddy". Nitro, yes it appeared on a few BF II's before the FG launch, same with the transcendent Sensation!

Conquer - Febuary-07 to March-08, metallic, paint code CN.

Steel - August-07 to May-10, metallic, paint code TT.

Nitro - April-08 to October 2011, metallic, paint code NT.

(No press shots or examples, hence the FG pic)

Sensation - April-08 to May-11, metallic, paint code SN.

(No press shots, just a Carsales example of s BF 2.5 XR6)

It's questionable if I should include Breeze here as well, because its such stunning ability to colour-morph. Was it green, was it light blue?

Breeze - October-06 to Febuary-09, metallic, paint code BR.

Also, Silk was technically a silver but had blue undertones. Not a favorite of mine at all.

Silk - April-07 to Dec-08, metallic, paint code SK.

My favorites of all those?

While it was over-used, you can't deny what Blueprint represented and did for the Falcon and Ford brands. It was a middle finger to Holden, a "we can play this game too" gesture. Probably not my first choice, but it deserves a mention for its place in history.

Of the mid-blue's, Shockwave looked brilliant in certain situations but was just a little flat and lacked depth. I much preferred the richer metallic of Sensation and Conquer............both what I would consider to be classic Ford corporate blue.

Deep/dark blue has never been a favorite, so Blue Pearl and Steel don't make a favorite list. On the other end of the scale, I'm also not a fan of light blue. The exception to that would be Icon and Bionic. Icon was classy, Bionic packed a visual punch that to my eyes was superior to the metallic Nitro.

But even after all of these years, there can only be one winner.......................................

Im never going to be one to doubt the depth of knowledge of DFB.

But there was one that was missed.

I have heard of Nitration before but never knew the story behind it. I guess I never tracked it down because it was never an official colour.
